Great white sharks live in almost all coastal and offshore waters with temperatures between 12 and 24 degrees Celsius (54 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit). Their estimated lifespan is 70 or more years.
When male great white sharks reach maturity they are 3.5- 4.0 meters (11.5- 13.1 feet) long. When female great white sharks reach maturity they are 4.5- 5.0 meters (14.8- 16.4 feet) long. Female sharks are most likely larger then male sharks. An average size for adults great white sharks are 4- 5.2 meters (13- 17 feet) long and have a mass of 680- 1,000kg (7,328 lb). Great white sharks can reach 6.4 meters (21 feet) in length and 3,324 kg (7,328 lb) in weight.
Great White Sharks have impressive jaw power. A great white shark more than 6.1 meters (20 feet) long could exert a bite force of over 18,000 newtons (4,000 lbf).
Great white sharks are carnivorous and prey on fish (tuna, rays, sometimes other sharks), cataceans (dolphinss, porpoises, whales), pinnipeds ( seals, fur seals, and sea lions), sea turtles, sea otters and sea birds.
Great white sharks have earned a bad reputation. It is true that these sharks are responsible for large numbers of recorded shark attacks. They don't confuse poeple for a seal as most people belief. These attacks happen in waters with low visibility or other situations that interfere with the shark's senses. When they do attack they let go because the taste is unfamiliar. If their is a fatal death because of a shark attack it is because of blood lose. Great white sharks don't mean to hurt poeple it's just a mistake.
