The grass between Sylvia's toes tickled her more than yesterday. She didn't seem to pay attention to those tiny sensations until now.

She skipped freely across the velvet grass of her land, far and wide, she strayed her path. Peace and comfort flew through her and wisped through the sunlit-blonde strands of her hair.

While she danced and twirled, she encountered some dainty creatures belonging to the wild world. They wiggled their little tails and waved their padded paws.

"Hello!" Sylvia exclaimed as gently as she could. She crouched down to her knees and scooted closer to them. She wanted to examine their petite details. However, these frightened feral beings jumped away slightly from her and averted their wide, starry-eyed gaze to hers. Their small noses teetered as they sniffled.

"You're okay!" Sylvia spoke sincerely. She refused to take their impolite silence to heart, "I forgive you for not being able to speak."  The gerbils slowly attempted to crawl away from her, for they were uncomfortable with her wanting to befriend them.

She panicked, "Please, don't leave me. I promise I won't harm you. I am sugary sweet!" she tried to comfort the vermin, but they still stayed cautious of her and remained distant. She took minor steps to be closer.

She extended her frail arms, cupping her pale hands against one another. Her palm was upward, and her fingers stretched like a ramp for one of the furry babies to utilize and clamber upon her hand.

She was doing her very best to be inviting and ginger. One of the creatures abided and raised their mini paw to step onto her finger. This overwhelmed Sylvia's enthusiasm. She smiled brightly at the wild animals. She tried to be patient as the critter sniffled her chocolate-stained hand. Oh, this just warmed Sylvia's heart! She could see the future with her new friend so vividly. She smiled eagerly when it looked like the living thing was about to waddle into her hand.

Suddenly, she felt a sharp clamp on her finger. The pain spread like venom across her skin. This unexpected pain caused her to release a deafening wince that scared away the evil spawn. They vanished from sight like smoke in the wind. She cradled her hand close to her heart, just trying to reside the pain she felt.

She inspected the tip of her finger and the droplet of blood that prickled there. Her harmless heart was now wounded. All she wanted was to give sublime love and endless care to someone.  Now she was full of despair and sadness. She felt extremely lonely. This bittersweet tragedy caused the poor girl to weep.

She fell into the grass while tears trickled from her eyes like candle wax. She was sugary sweet and didn't understand how those fiends could revolt against her kindness. They were so soft but had such hard hearts.

Sylvia's sore eyes traced the cotton blobs among the dreamy blue sky from the rough ground. She couldn't bear the presence of these cavernous infinities ahead of her, far and wide. How could the bewildering sky remain so serene? How could the heavens maintain so lovely when below is agony?

She dared to curse at the beaming sunlight. It was so brilliant it dissolved her wistful tears. The sunlight shone through her like she was glass.

She shut her eyes and dug herself deep into the bristled earth with these questions in her head.
