Jennifer's POV
*BEEP BEEP BEEP* My alarm clock goes off. *BEEP BEEP BEEP* "Okay Okay! I'm up!" I confess hitting the OFF button on the alarm clock. "Ugh, here we go." I moan getting out of bed.
I go straight to the bathroom, removing the hair tie that was holding up my messy bun. "Wow! My hair looks nice black!" I say to my self. (I died my hair black last night.) I took my hair brush and gently brushed through the knots out of my hair. I run the sink and and splash my face with cold water.
When I return to my room I put on a black sleeveless shirt and my ripped gray jeans which I bought the day before. I put on my cross necklace and a gray sweater. I quickly put on my black tie up boots and run down stairs. "Hi mom." I say as I grabbed a piece of toast.
"Hi Hunny" she replies deciding not to mention my outfit.
" I have to go!" I tell her. "Bye! I love you!"
"Love you too!" She tells me as I head out the door.
I hop into my car and drove off to school. I walk into the big school doors and as soon as I enter, everyone was staring at me. So I just smile at them and walk to my locker. "Hi Becky!" I yell to my best frand.
"Um, hi.. Are you who I think you are..?" She replies.
"Oh what? You don't like it?" I ask her with a grin.
"It's just, well very, I'm how do I say-" she tries to say.
"Dark?" I interrupted.
"Uh yeah. Dark." She replies. "Anyway.. So how you been?"
"Umm well. Okay I guess." I answer
"You seem upset. What's up?"
"My dad went back to the army.." I confess.
"Oh My Gosh Jen!!" She yells " I am so sorry!"
"It's all good" I say giving a thumbs up.
"Is this why.. You became all.. You know.. Dark.?" She asks
"Uh.. Well maybe it has a little to do with it, but I'm trying something new.." I reply
"Oh Jen!" She says "lets just get to class."
So I follower her to room 218 which is math with Ms. Christina. I sit down in my normal seat which is next to Becky and Daniel. "It's Nice to see you Miss Gonzales" the teacher says to me. "Uh yeah, you too" I reply.
Ms. Christina goes on with her math lesson than Daniel passes a note to me. "I like your new look Gonzales" he wrote
I wrote back "oh really? And It's Jennifer." I pass the note back to him with a smirk.
"Yeah, I do Jennifer. Wanna hang out at lunch?" He writes and passes to me, that time the teacher almost saw.
"Well thanks Daniel. and why not!" I reply and hand to him.
"Haha yeah. Keep the note before the teacher catches us." He wrote down quickly and handed it back to me. I read the note and stuck it in my pocket. I looked over at Daniel and smiled then looked away, then I started paying attention to class again.

Jennifer Gonzales: 16, main character in the story, her father left for the military, is starting to turn dark.
Adam Gonzales: 32, Jennifer's Father, just left for military
Linda Gonzales: 30, Jennifer's Mother, Wife of Adam, Worried about Jennifer
Becky Johnson: 16, Jennifer's Best Friend from kindergarten, confused about the whole dark thing with Jennifer.
Daniel Benner: 16, sits next to Jennifer in math and Language Arts. Is starting to have a crush on Jennifer, Mr. Bad Boy
Ms. Christina: 38, Jennifer's Math Teacher.
