Sam's POV
It's 2 weeks before Christmas and memories have started to flood back. Taylor's almost caught me crying a couple of times. I don't want to talk to her about it.
After things cooled down that day Taylor has hesitated everytime she comes near me. I think she's scared to hurt me. I wish she wouldn't walk on glass around me.
I want her to randomly hug me and kiss me. I've been feeling isolated this week. She goes to work early in the morning and when she comes home disappears until dinner.
I push the door open to her music room. I look over at the piano remembering the moment that happened just a week ago. This room feels safe, it feels like Taylor. The only other place that would be better is her room but she doesn't want me in there. I respect her space and she respects mine. It feels like I'm a guest instead of whatever this is.
I lean against the wall and slip down to the floor. My hair, which has grown to my shoulders by this point, bunched up against the wall.
I find my eyes feeling heavy, unlike the rest of the house this room is comfortable. I drift off thinking of the fire she starts that I crave.
I wake up after who knows how long. When I open my eyes I see Taylor sitting in front of me with her legs crossed. She smiled warmly at me.
"Hey sleepy. Ready for dinner?" She asked. My eyes fall to the floor and I fumble with my fingers. "Not really" I said shrinking into the wall.
"Are you not feel good? Are you not eating again?" She asked concerned. She leaned forward slightly resting her hand on my knee. I can barely feel her hand, it's like it's not there.
"No I'm fine... I just" I let out a sigh. "You what?" She asked. I avoided her eyes feeling guilty for some reason. "Are you just going to disappear after? It feels like I never see you and when I do you act like I'm going to shatter" I say glancing st her hand.
She pulls away and fiddled with her hands. I finally looked up to meet her eyes but I'm met with the top of her head.
"I um" she said clearly not having an answer. My heart pounds in my chest. I push myself forward on my hands and knees. I manage to catch her eyes. "Taylor I won't break" I whispered. She looks at me and smiles. A storm was brewing in her eyes like she didn't believe me.
I sit on my knees so I can pu my hand on her knee. She looked down at me and smiles. I feel my face heat up and my hands shake.
She brings her hand up and hesitates. I can see it shaking as she cups my cheek. The heat spreads and I lean into her.
"I-" Taylor leans closer to me and I find focusing hard. Her breathing lands on my lips. Her lips land on mine and I melt.
Her hands move down to my waist carefully. She pulls me closer and I sit in her lap. We pull apart, my entire face feels like it's on fire. Taylor giggled and brushed hair out of my face.
I looked down shyly, feeling fire dance across my skin. She kissed me again biting my bottom lip. A muffled moan escapes my throat.
I pull away looking away embarrassed. Taylor puts her finger under my chin making me look at her. She had a fire in her eyes.
