Historia's POV
I toss my last suitcase in the car and wave goodbye to my family. I get into my car and speed off, ready to start this new chapter of my life:
College.
I smiled as I left my hometown's limits and merge onto the freeway. I live about two hours away from my college which means it wasn't too bad of a drive, but I was going to get bored. I sigh and take a sip of my chai latte, right as I put it down I get an incoming call from my friend Sasha. I smile and answer the call.
"Hey bitch!" She says laughing, "You ready to party hard at college? Ready to find some major hotties?"
"Eh... I think I'm gonna work on my studies, but you do you, Sasha," I chuckled. She was always pushing me to get into the dating world. I didn't have much experience in dating, I was a late bloomer. But ever since I came out my sophomore year of high school, she's been finding every lesbian alive and telling them I'm single.
"Connie found someone-" She started. I sighed.
"Sasha, I'm not looking to date!" I groaned. I just wanted to keep my scholarship and pass my classes, I don't want to have another thing to worry about.
"No, listen-"
"Bye, Sasha." I said as I hung up on her. She's crazy if she thinks I'm wasting any of my energy on dating.
TWO HOURS LATER
I pulled into my dorm's parking lot and jumped out of the car. I stretched and quickly grabbed some of my things. Sasha and Connie were supposed to come by later and help me put stuff away. Oh, I forgot to mention- Sasha and Connie are my friends from high school. We ran track together and I was always somehow pulled into their antics.
As I carried my three backpacks and rolled two suitcases into the building I groaned as I realized there was no elevator. I took a deep breath and braced myself for the long walk up the stairs to the third floor. Once I made it up the stairs I walked down the hall and looked for room 335, which I would be sharing with another girl in my year.
I kept looking for my room then thinking about all the fun things I could do with my new roommate! I've never had a roommate before so this was all new to me. Oooh, what if we became best friends! Or maybe we would hate each other.... I shook that thought out of my head and told myself to think positively. I will be friends with her, no matter what.
I reached my room and unlocked the door. It was fairly small. I couldn't believe two people would be living in here. I put my bags down and threw myself onto my bed. This could be nice. Having a roommate would just be like having a super long slumber party, right?
At around six PM I heard a feverish knock on the door. Oh my God, was that my roommate? Was I about to meet my new best friend? The door burst open and Sasha jumped on top of me.
"Hey bestie! Did ya miss me?" She laughed. I laughed with her and shoved her off me as I sat up."Did you bring food?" I asked. She smiled.
"Of course!" She ushered in Connie who was holding a pizza box. I smiled and thanked them for being such good friends. They truly did always have my back.
"Where's your roomie?" Sasha asked between bites.
"I dunno," I answered, "I've been here since noon and no one's showed up. Maybe she transferred."
"Or maybe she heard you were mad annoying." Connie joke. I glared at him and went back to eating. I truly did feel like maybe she'd find me annoying.
Connie, Sasha, and I spent the night laughing, eating and having fun. We talked about high school and our friends who would be coming to college with us, too. And then we theorized on my new roommate. They left at around 1 AM and I sighed as I tucked myself into bed.
What would my roommate be like?
Would she be pretty?
What if she was mean?
What if she hated me?
Maybe she'll be weirded out because I'm gay. . .
Who knows. I'm so excited to meet her.
