if i was to put an extra hour on the deadline of my heart,
to keep a count of more than enough seconds with you,
the heavens might turn a blind eye to what i think,
it's not in the favor of god or me,
but i'd watch you from afar,
perhaps pat my nonsensically loud heartbeat.

and what i'd do after finishing the deadline,
what sort of man would that'd make me,
oh, it's all for the hells to answer,
for i wouldn't dare partake in such treason,
where i betray not just the voice of my heart,
but yours too,
and so it will take me to hell,
not looking at you.

after the words truly settle within, jungkook smiles.

it's small and almost impossible to make out, but jungkook's smiling.

and he wonders whether this particular event has something to do with him seeing the poet earlier this afternoon.

as soon as the blonde boy's red and embarrassed face flashes again in his mind, he smiles yet again.

who is this blonde boy and what has his poems done to jungkook?

that must be for the heavens to answer.
