She sat on her throne, the one which used for the most important events in the kingdom. The throne was made of crystal and had gold decorations, it was beautiful and made all eyes focus on her.
usually. When ceremonies like that took place, as the last person has come, she was exhausted and the only thing she wanted was quit to her rooms. But not today, today she was looking forward to the next person who came to see her.
as always, her staff gave her a list with the names of the people and the reason that they arrived to her, but today, next to the name of the very last person there wasn't any reason. It was the first time that this kind of things happened to her.
she wasn't surprised at all when she was asked to give her permission for him to get in. She almost expected this to happen. After all, this was the 5th anniversary since she became the queen. 5 was the most important number which lead the country. This day was almost iconic. And he was kind of person who likes dates like this.
she signed to the guard over the doors to let the very last person in, and gave her glass of wine in the hands of a servant who stood behind her.
the man came onto the room, bowing deeply, "can we talk privately somewhere?"
"no" she answered, her voice freezing cold, "what do you want?" her full of rings fingers tapping slowly on the throne's armrest.
"pardon" he answered, looking straight to her eyes. It doesn't seem like he thought it's count as rude, but it's not something that a random subject is able to do- look to the queen herself eyes. She remembered how much his eyes color is similar to hers. She almost forgot, already.
"You dare," she said, getting up off the throne furiously, the whole room went to one knee, "to just appear here and ask me to pardon you?"
"Silvia," he started to say, but she stopped him, "your majesty"
"we're siblings!" he cried.
"no one who tried so hard to kill me in so many different ways are deserving to be called my brother" she said coldly, sitting again. She couldn't notice that the whole room is still bowing, because being so shocked.
"Do you have anything else to tell me or I can finish here?"
"I'm sorry, your majesty," he said submissively, "we were kids"
"you were my brother!" she said, her face all frozen, but screaming inside.
"were?" he asked, his hand making unexpected move, her bodyguards tensed.
"Were! Of course, you were. Why the hell. It looks legit to you to do that to your sister, only because she was in a higher place to take the crown after the previous king? You were at the second place, and even though you tried to get yourself higher, and if to be honest, in the worst ways. I have to blood to share with this kind of person. You have to be thankful that you're still alive, and even that is because I don't want to get as low as you did."
"Silvia" he tries again.
"don't. call. Me. My. Name." she's standing again. The room kneeling in front of her.
"Get out of here. Now."
"think, please!" he cries as the guards grabbing him out of the room.
"ok," she's signing the guards to let him off, "I'll think about you've done to be the king. About the fact that it hurt you so bad that your younger sister will lead the kingdom. You couldn't think about me being better than you in something. I'll think about all the ways you tried neutralizing me, and if to be honest, became more and more desperate. We grew up together, Eaden!" she's finishing, her voice shaking but she's refusing to let tears full her eyes, "take him away from me" she's saying, the guards grab him out the room.
"Leave me alone" she said, the room went empty a short moment later.
he hasn't changed at all, although he didn't look like son of lords anymore. Not like someone who grew up at the highest royal grounds. How dare he? To come to her, after all this time, and ask her to pardon him? How dare he to act like they're these siblings again. And his excuse they were kids, ha! He was nineteen and she was seventeen. He wasn't a kid anymore, and so does she.
"Eaden" she whispers, collapsing on her throne, her head between her knees. Tears running down her face, his voice at her coronation day in repeat inside her head- "long live the queen, i guess", and she's all alone.
