She kissed him as he bid her goodbye for good, it would be last time she would ever see him in such alive state.
Knowing she would by now be out of his sight, she sat down, bent her knees and tucked her head in her knees.
"Why this, why the mess..." sobbing more and more, knowing at least he would be safe for now, she hoped. Unknowingly for her, he never was the target to begin with, just a piece of unwanted material.
_______________________________________She looked at her dad as he parked the car in front of an old shabby house that just nearly felt apart by just looking at it.
"Dad!" She proclaimed as he stopped the car and turned of the engine.
"Welcome to our new home" he gave his best smile to his unwilling teenage girl.
"It's just need some love, then it will be better than back in the big city" his face expression changed from smile to pleading eyes."Fine" rolling her eyes, looking around. At least they got a huge yard to them self. Her mom would had loved it, at least what she believed. She could only remember small bits from when she were twelve and her mom still was alive. But right now she wasn't, so she took a deep breath. This sudden change had been hard on her and her dad, so at least she would try looking more happy for him and help out.
House number 353, she smirked, it once had a blue sea colure that had long since been weathered down by the sand, just few minutes walk, she guessed, from the house. It was all wooden and hadn't any solid concrete under it. The hole think can house stood on poles, just waiting to be folded together like aluminium foil. But at least nothing was falling of the house for now, every window she could see from the parking lot were hole and intact. Maybe her dad was right, a few new paint strokes and a good old scrubbing.
Taking her bag of important stuff ,that she didn't trust her dad with, she walked to the main door. The more she looked at the area around the house, it could host a massive party of any kind and still have place left for people. It gave now more a villa feeling than anything else.
"Come, let's get a look inside" snapping her back to reality.
On the door there was an carving, letters, "By old and new, non enemies allowed, family always welcome. "
Her dad just smirked at her as she had read it out.
"One of your mom's old tales. You see, your mom loved the ide of magic, saying that she had put a old spell on her old house so only members of family could enter and those we invite. " She could see his face expression relaxing, a slight tear forming in his eye."So, dear descendent of my beloved wife, would you take the honour to unlock the house of ours?" Making her laugh. "Yes my kind sir, the keys please."
He make a huge bow as he presented the keys to her, making them bought burst out in laughter. But as she took the keys, she felt something change. It was just for a second, a hunch, a weird feeling. But she let it go as fast as she had gotten it.
Putting the key in, she could swear to hear gears moving behind the door. Then a slight click as keys turned all the way and giving the door a push it opened up to them.
"No freaking way..." She just stopped thinking there and then, as looking into a gigantic hallway.
