Wings and Horns

Lotus

Zaph slowly regains consciousness and opens her eyes. She sits up wondering what the hell just happened. She looks around and sees a silhouette of what seems to be a girl sitting on top of a gravestone shaped like a cross. She seemed to be sharpening Zaph's knives. Zaph gets up in a huff.

"Those are mine," She says, angrily, stomping over to the girl. As Zaph gets closer, she can see that the girl has two horns on her forehead. And that she was very beautiful. "What the--"

"I was just sharpening them for you," she replies. "You really need to file your weapons more often."

"Give me those." Zaph snatches the weapons off the girl and steps closer to her to point one of them at her throat, making the girl almost fall from the gravestone. "What are you and what are you doing here," she said sternly, glancing up at her horns. 

"My name is Lotus and--"

"I didn't ask you who you are, I asked what you are."

"If you would let me finish..!" Lotus sighs in frustration. "I am half witch and--" she glances at her wings. "Half witch." Zaph raises an eyebrow at her odd description. "And I should be asking you what you are doing here. This is my castle."

"Of course it is," Zaph mumbles under her breath. She lowers her dagger and steps back. Her former teachers taught her that it's rude to hold someone at knifepoint in their living space. Unless they're trying to kill you of course.

"If you're a witch, how do you explain your horns?" she asks out of pure curiosity.

"Oh, these? Their an illusion," Lotus says as she makes a hand gesture and the horns disappear. Zaph has seen bigger illusions than this and was surprised at herself as to why she hadn't guessed that. 

(A/N heyyy im not dead yet lmao. sry i havent added to this story for months. tbh i kinda forgot abt it-- and also sry this chapter ended so abruptly. i plan on adding to it more soon. hope you guys like it! and plzzz give me feedback i would love to see it <33)
