Y/n walked into the tent of theirs and found a letter from John
"Huh?"
She opened it and tears streamed down her face

Dear y/n

I was sent off to South Carolina to fight and free slaves, my goal is to get over 3000 slaves or more, I will see you on the other side!

Y/n cried  and quickly limped to Washingtons tent where Lafayette was there and she just Immediately hugged laf And looked at Washington
"Why did you send him to South Carolina?"
Washington had sorrow in his eyes
"Kid..."
"I'm not a kid"
"I know, sorry, he volunteered himself he wanted to fight for you..."
Y/n didn't say anything just looked up at Lafayette
"You have some cuts, lets get those taken care of"
Y/n limped back to the medic tent with Lafayette
"What happened to your leg Mon amour?"
"Oh, when thy threw me around I hurt my ankle I'm fine"
The nurse tended to Lafayettes wounds
Y/n yawned and looked at Lafayette who was getting up
Y/n sighed
After a week of fighting, a young man in a red coat stands on a parapet
We lower our guns as he frantically waves a white handkerchief
And just like that, it's over, we tend to our wounded, we count our dead
Black and white soldiers wonder alike "if this really means freedom" herc asked
"Not yet" Washington said
We negotiate the terms of surrender
I see George Washington smile
We escort their men out of Yorktown
They stagger home single file
Tens of thousands of people flood the streets
There are screams and church bells ringing
And as our fallen foes retreat
I hear the drinking song they're singing
"Freedom for America, freedom for France!" Lafayette yelled
"Gotta start a new nation, gotta meet my son" Alex said
"We won!" Y/n yelled
"We won!" Laf yelled
"We won!} herc yelled
"We won!" They all yelled

Later that night back at the sisters house in y/ns room....
