It was a dark and humid evening. Talking could be heard coming from an alley nearby.
In said alley, Yvanna held Mackenzie in her arms, trying to apply as much pressure to the stab wound as possible.
"Oh my god you're gonna bleeding out!" Yvanna exclaimed in terror.
"Before I go - " Mackenzie started.
"Don't say that!"
"No! Just listen. I need you to go on my phone and delete my search history." Mackenzie said.
"Don't joke at a time like this man!" Yvanna responded, trembling with fear.
"It's not a joke bro, it's not a joke ok? I got some tabs open right now, and I don't want anyone else to see." Mackenzie mumbled, out of breath.
"How bad can it be? Please just focus on staying alive." Yvanna insisted.
"I don't trust anyone else with this task."
"What's on your phone?"
"On my private browser. There's Fan fiction." Mackenzie said in response.
"That's it? It could be worse I guess." Yvanna said, confused.
"Yeah, but it's weird and I don't want anyone else knowing that I read them." Mackenzie says while she hands Yvanna her phone.
Yvanna starts reading , and her expression contorted into one of disgust.
"Don't let my family know,-" Mackenzie started.
"What is wrong with you?!" Yvanna exclaimed.
"Make sure they have fond memories of me, and they don't remember me like this."Mackenzie continued, acting like she didn't hear the comment.
"If you survive this, I need you to get psychological treatment." Yvanna pleaded, horrified.
"I hope I don't survive, so we don't ever have to talk about this again." Mackenzie said, ashamed.
"For your sake I hope you do, because there's no way your going to a better place right now."
"Thanks for being a good friend."
"Thank you for trusting me."
"Ok turn it off now." Mackenzie asked Yvanna, shame lacing her words.
"Alright." Yvanna complied.
Mackenzie died in Yvanna's arms just as the ambulance had arrived. Later that day Yvanna, keeping her promise, deleted Mackenzie's history. Her family and friends never found out, and Yvanna had to live with the information of what was on that phone for the rest of her life.
