She fights dirty

Chapter 1

"No Lennox not like that!"

"You're doing it wrong Lennox."

"Lennox are you even paying attention?"

"You're wasting my time Lennox!"

I woke with a start. Huh. It was just a bad dream. This was the way my mother spoke to me, when she saw me that is. I never seemed to do anything right. She would grow frustrated and walk away or show me how it'd done by pinning me down. That's how she'd teach me a lesson. Luckily she was back on tour and I was left alone in my apartment. I looked around and realized I was in my room and not the cage. I got up, stretch and walked over to my balcony that overlooked the ocean. The sun had barely risen yet so I made myself a coffee and sat and watched the sun rise. Orange and yellow streaked the waves in front of me and at times like this this I itched to grab my board and surf the early morning waves before anyone else. But alas I had to train, shower and get ready and off to school.

Sighing and promising myself I'll go for a surf when I get home I turn around and head back into my room and towards my gym back and pack everything I'll need and change into some gym clothes. I head downstairs make a protein shake, grab a bottle of water from the fridge and head towards the front door, on my way I grab my car keys, phone, sunglasses and I'm off out of my apartment towards my car. I start my car and put the roof down and blast the radio, it takes me 20 minutes tops to get from my place to the gym. As I'm turning my car off and locking it up, Ace opens  up the gym door and waits for me, arms crossed and expression neutral.

I grab my gym bag and head towards him my face blank.The thing about Ace is he can read me like a book as he likes to say, and this morning I regretfully am missing my mom, and I don't want home to know as he'll want to 'talk'. Blergh. So instead I spread my arms and shout dramatically  "Ace my man! How you been buddy? Long time no see!" He just chuckles and shakes his head.

"Kid, I saw you just yesterday." I just grin.

"You sure old man? That memory might be starting to fail you." I reply cheekily. At this Ace runs towards me and throws me over his shoulder and runs into the gym. Me screeching and Ace laughing he runs around the gym in front of every one. They just laugh and watch us with amusement in their eyes. Me? I'm laughing so hard my whole face is bright red with tears streaming down my face. At the last minute Ace changes course and heads towards the soak room, curious, the others in the gym follow wondering what he's about to do but me, I already do and I start fighting him, from his shoulder. And the next thing I know I'm dunked into the ice pool.

Everyone looks shocked for a minute then start laughing at me and clap Ace on the back and head back to what they were doing before, I just glare at him from the pool. "What the fuck Ace!" I shout with chattering teeth. He just laughs and shrugs his shoulders, then motions for me to get out and follow him. What a great way to start the day huh? Though what I didn't know was my day was about to get much worse the minute I walked through that door.
