If there's something you hate the most it would have to be late, late of all days especially on your first day at work. You ran throughout the streets making your way to the best bar you know. The Last Drop. a bar located deep down in the city of Zaun where you lived all your life in and all you ever known. it wasnt too bad as you thought it would be, hell, it could be a lot worse than you thought.

"Sorry! Excuse me! Coming through!- MOVE IT ASSHOLE!" (Y/N) squeezed herself through the crowed.

Who knew it would be this busy of a street. You bumped into people left and right.

At last you arrived, trying to catch your breath and brushed your messy hair back as you casually walked inside the bar having the warmth hit your face. You scanned the entire room to find your boss but it didn't seem like he was around. Maybe Vander wouldn't notice if you were 30 MINUTES LATE. just play it cool (Y/N). you got this.

You felt a heavy hand on your shoulders that made you jolt, ready to swing a punch but immediately turned around and let out a relieved sigh. It was your boss Vander.

"Whoa take it easy.... It's too early for a bar fight don't you think?" the tall man gave a humble chuckle
"Was wondering where you've been, I'm gonna need you behind the bar tonight.....customers are looking a little thirsty" he nudged your arm with his elbow, glancing at the guest who sat on the stools at your station.

he didn't sound too pissed off about you coming in late which lifted the worry off your chest and gave him a nod as you walked over behind the bar. everything seemed to go smoothly-"just a little hint of advice, try not to come late to work next time..." your boss commented before turning the other direction with a smirk on his face. shit.

you felt red all over your head and walked a little faster after hearing him call you out. so he did notice. of course he would notice. he owns the damn bar for crying out loud. throughout the night you were keeping focus on your work, people were coming and drinks are going. you were proud of yourself at how you multi-task from one thing to the next, keeping customers happy and drunk of their minds without breaking a sweat or a breakdown. eventually the bar was closing and the number of guest was now to none, you grabbed a rag and cleaned up the counter before throwing it over your shoulder.

Vander approached along side with 4 other children: 2 boys and 2 girls with him, they were like ducklings following their mother as they hopped on a stool to sit. were kids allowed in bars? it wouldn't really surprise you if it was a thing. brushing the thought off, you turned your head to the bearded man and flashed a smile, resting a hand on your hip

"great job tonight (Y/N), you really gave it your all tonight" resting his arm on the counter

"thanks, just doin' my job that's all" you said as you were working on pouring him a glass of whiskey, sliding it towards him.

"hey where's my drink at? I actually behaved today just like you wanted Vander" cried out  the spikey haired boy as the pink hair girl rolled her eyes at him before giving him a soft punch on the arm.

"oh oh oh! I'd like a drink too!" spoke the blue haired child, excitingly jumping on her chair.

"ok ok ok 4 non-alcoholic drinks coming right up"

you spent the entire time chatting and laughing away with everyone, you even got to get to know the kids as well. Mylo, Claggor, Vi and lastly Powder who are under the care of Vander. they spoke only the craziest adventures and tales they had as a group which fascinated you. did kids nowadays start looking for trouble anywhere they go? well you couldn't blame them. you were just like them as a kid too.

as much as you all wanted to continue talking, it was time to depart. Powder was already falling asleep throughout the conversation and Vander took noticed. he stood up and picked her up in his strong arms before tilting his head to signal the others to follow too, walking back to their rooms. you cleaned up after them and walked over to meet your boss, staring at the sleepy blue haired girl and caressing the back of her head.

"oh you poor thing, guess I'll take my leave then" you cooed, placing the towel down from your shoulder on to the counter before crossing your arms across your chest. "thanks again for letting me work here"

"i think i should be thanking you, costumers seem to like you and surprisingly the kids as well....i dont get to see that everyday" he joked. "get some rest, i'll see you tomorrow same time as today....oh make sure this time make sure your not late!"

you rolled your eyes and couldn't help but laugh, waving farewell before taking your leave. well shit if your days are going to be like this all the time then so be it. that smile on your face didnt seem like it was coming off anytime soon but the farther you walked away from the bar, the more you realized it couldnt stay like this be forever.

you came to a stop and looked up at the figure in front of you. a red eye glistening from the shadows.

"you got in? was he there?" said the slender man in a low voice

"yes Silco....and he's not alone"
