One Last Chance

(A Few Days Later, Spring of Courage)

"Mipha, are you alright", Kate asked, walking up to the Zora Champion, making her jump

"Yes... have you heard anything", Mipha asked

"Not yet, Zelda insisted she do this alone", Kate stated, "this may be our last chance, and I can't help but worry",

"I understand how you feel", Mipha reassured, not long after, monsters emerged, forcing everyone to fight while protecting Zelda, while in the meantime, fleeing back to the castle, nearing a safe area, Impa gave a stern talking to Zelda, not long after, everyone made it back to the castle, with no luck, King Rhoam decided to do the next best thing, and would see it through tomorrow, meanwhile, Kate knocked on Zelda's door

"Zelda... you in there", Kate asked

"Come in", Zelda said as Kate entered Zelda's room

"Hey, are you alright", Kate asked, walking toward Zelda and sitting down right next to her

"I've been thinking about visiting the Spring of Wisdom before the attack", Zelda explained, "but I don't know if it will work",

"I believe it will, even if I have to prey beside you, I will, I'm not giving up on you", Kate reassured

"Sis, how is it that you and Link were able to pull the swords", Zelda asked

"After fighting that guy, and getting knocked down, I remember those things coming after you", Kate explained, "I wanted to rush over and protect you, but I knew deep down I wouldn't make it, but I still had to try",

"And I still thank you both for that day", Zelda said with a smile

"Sister or best friends, I would be there for you", Kate reassured before something popped in her head

"Everything ok", Zelda asked curiously

"I think I know the answer to unlocking your powers, give or take", Kate said as Zelda was eager to listen, "from what I said earlier, it reminded me of my favorite story, the legends of the heroes, each hero with the exception of the first heroes had a reason for pulling out the swords, for the Heroes of the Sky, they pulled the swords to find and save their friend, as for the Heroes of Time and Twilight, they pulled the swords to save the Hyrule of old, when we pulled the swords, it was similar to the Heroes of the Sky",

"But I've been trying to unlock my power to save Hyrule", Zelda began

"I know, but I think there's more to it than meets the eye", Kate explained, "we all want to save Hyrule, but we also have people that we want to protect",

"...I see what you mean... I'll try it when we go to the Spring of Wisdom", Zelda stated

"Alright, if there's anything else I can find to help, I'll alert you", Kate said, getting up

"Kate, wait", Zelda said, Kate turned toward Zelda, "the book you mentioned, is it with you",

"Yes, I always carry it with me to read when I can", Kate said

"Would you... read to me, like you always did when I was little", Zelda asked, "It would help me get my mind off today",

"You want me to tuck you in too", Kate teased with a small smile, only for Zelda to hit her with her pillow, earning a laugh from the two, "Alright, which story would you like to hear",

"The first one, with the first heroes", Zelda said as Kate nodded her head and began reading

"In the ancient past, the three golden goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore created the world and life upon it, upon returning to the heavens, they left behind an ancient relic, the Triforce, it was put into the care of the Goddess Hylia, but she knew that she wouldn't be able to protect it alone, a war was coming, and Hylia's agents, the Sheikah, wouldn't be enough",
