Trials of Love - Swasan

Chapter 5

"You what?!" Prerna had her eyes wide open at Swara's statement. "Hold on what did you say?! You payed for his trip? Do you know how mad your Dad will be when he finds this out?"

"I know but what's the use of a friend which can't even help."

"I'm warning you Swara. It's not safe. You know how far your Dad can go. You're friends with him, that's fine but if you end up falling for him..." Prerna warned Swara knowing the consequences.

"Prerna what are you talking about?! We're just friends. Nothing like that will happen." replied Swara before pondering over a thought.

Prerna snapped her fingers in front of Swara's face. "Swara? Everything alright? What are you thinking about?" Prerna asked being confused. 

"Yeah I'm good. We better go. Our friends must be waiting" Swara said after snapping out of her thoughts. She and Prerna started walking whilst she thought to ask "By the way I was wondering. Is there something going on between you and Anurag?"

"What?! Of course not! Why would you think so?" Prerna said defensively which made Swara suspect her more. She had known her for years and there was not a thing she could hide from her. Yet she decided to let the topic go just this once.

"Oh alright. If you say so." Swara replied with a laugh as they walked back. Suddenly she received a call. It was her Dad. Prerna saw that and excused herself whilst a worried Swara stared at her phone before answering, hoping that her father would be oblivious to her recent deed. Slowly she answered the call and started speaking with a nervous tone trailing behind. "Hi Dad."

"Swara where are you?!" Shekhar said in a concerned voice.

"I'm at Uni why?" Swara replied.

"Come home quick! It's urgent!" Her father seemed distressed which made her more scared than she was. 

"Is everything ok?" Her dad did not reply. "Hello? Papa? Are you there?"

She wondered if everyone was ok but without wasting another second she ended the call and drove back home as fast as she could. One the way, her thoughts were only occupied by her father's words. Why did he want her there so urgently? Did he find out that she helped Sanskar? Is that such a big deal? Is everyone at home ok?

Thousands of thoughts ran through her head whilst driving. Unfortunately, due to this she did not realise that she had passed the red traffic light and that the lorry in front of her was honking. When she snapped out of her thoughts she immediately steered her steering wheel to the left side and took a pause. She then got out of the car and calmed herself down. 

After she could trust herself to drive again, she sat back in and put on her seat belt before taking a deep breath and started to drive. "Well done Swara! Papa's gonna kill you twice now! Great job!" When she finally reached, she parked her car and ran inside only to notice that everyone was sitting calmly, having tea and that the house echoed with laughter. And who were these people that were sitting with them?
