Another story has begun (Idol AU)

The Start of Everything

IT'S BEEN A VERY LONG TIME AGAIN!!! This is a short idol AU which I've thought of after seeing 4NEMO and DCKZ. So, this is like a backstory of how Aether became a part of 4NEMO! XD Inspired by 4NEMO and DCKZ.

Aether and Lumine have always been together since they were young, they starved and suffered together. Parents were ass, dad ran away with some woman and mum drinking and fooling around everyday. Everyday they have to live in that shit hole of a house for shelter, then wandering around the streets to beg for food or money. They have only one goal in mind; to survive. If one dies, the other would be left alone. If both die, they can't guarantee they can be together again in the next life.

Until one day when that disaster happened... They were sitting in the corner of the house, hugging each other to sleep, when people started banging on the door. They were shouting, something about money and running away. Only the two of them were in the house. Mum was out doing her shit. They could only hope that the people out there would leave soon. But that kind of miracle does not happen. There was silence until the door got smashed down. They were scared. Really scared. They were just doing their own thing to survive and have not offended anyone. What was happening to them?

They hugged even tighter. The shouting became more apparent, then they saw a huge shadow of a man in front of them. Aether avoided eye contact and closed his eyes, praying that this was just a nightmare, while Lumine hugged Aether tighter. Despite being scared, anger took over, she glared at the man for scaring Aether until this way. Then that was when the world turned completely dark for them. Lumine was pulled away from Aether. Both shouted and screamed for each other, reaching out, hoping to grab a hold of the other. They are twins! They can't be apart! It's inhumane to be separated like this! But they were just kids, together with malnutrition, they got no strength to fight back but only to struggle.

In a split second, Aether found himself lying on the cold hard floor and Lumine was gone. All the men were gone. Only he was there. Alone. He struggled to get up, believing that he would be able to catch up if he could just stand up and run. But he couldn't. He was not left unharmed, he was shoved away when he struggled to hold onto Lumine. He closed his eyes. Without Lumine, he was alone. Without him, Lumine was alone. For the very first time, he wished he was dead.

~Time skip~

Aether grew up. He was fifteen. To think he managed to survive, it was a godsend miracle. He thought of this as a chance for him to find and protect Lumine, never to let her go ever again. One time was enough. If he were to be asked how he managed to survive, he would say, "I don't know". There was no clear reason. After that one day, he took whatever was in that house, though there was close to nothing, and ran away from that filthy trash shelter, which he swore never to go back to ever again. He was a smart boy. He washed himself and clothes with water to make himself look presentable. He lived everywhere and managed to find work and would leave after a few weeks to prevent any trouble for child labour. He also met and made friends with Paimon, who stuck close to him after he gave her some food. Together with Paimon by his side, everyday, rinse and repeat, which brought him to where he was today.

He has grown even more beautiful and handsome at the same time. How is that even possible? Don't question it. It will only hurt your brain and mood. Though he's fifteen, his appearance looks eighteen, which also means people will start to notice him. He used this opportunity to make himself known and earn money. 'How?', you asked? Singing. Lumine has always loved his singing and so has he always loved her singing. If only she was with him now... No. Don't think about it. He will definitely find her. They promised to be together forever after all. She was his strength and he was hers. They were one and cannot be separated for eternity. That was what motivated him all these time. A goal. A day in the future when they would be reunited again.

He has only started singing recently as he was not all that brave. He was still scared of people. Only Lumine was there with him in the past. But because now it was for Lumine, he managed to muster all his courage to stand on the street and sing. He didn't have a song in mind, he just sang whatever that he sang to Lumine in the past. Hoping maybe Lumine was somewhere in this sea of people in front of him. But no. Reality doesn't work this way. It only punches you in the face, trips you and punches you again once you're on the ground.

Everyday, he sang. He sang while thinking of his other half. He sang with his whole heart. He sang wherever, whether it was at a free event or bar. And yes, his feelings managed to touch people who heard him. That was also when he managed to touch the hearts of people he would meet in the future.

One day, when he was going to start his daily routine, someone approached him, asking whether he would like to earn money with his singing. He immediately agreed. Whatever works. As long as it helps him to reach out to more people and earn money, he would be able to find her faster. That person was shocked to hear his answer, thinking that this boy was too defenseless. Even so, she was glad that he agreed, hoping that she wasn't too suspicious when approaching Aether.

1 year passed and not a single news of Lumine. However, Aether did not give up. He was doing very well now, but emotionally? Not really. But he was still hanging on because he believed. His agency was great, though Amber, the person who approached him, was kinda suspicious the first time they met but it was the first time. Awkward and suspicious encounters happen every time when it involves a stranger.

He gained a manager, Paimon, after settling down in the agency. She offered herself to the agency, saying that she would do anything if she is able to help Aether in any way. Aether really appreciated that. He only met the CEO and the other employees in the company. Sometimes he would wonder where the other talents were in the agency, but it was not something he really cared about. It was his off-day so he went to the arcade as he never had the chance to in the past and has been busy ever since he joined the agency. He had to go through various training sessions and he missed his chance to enjoy his youth. The arcade was amazing, but without anyone accompanying him, it was boring. Paimon was busy with her manager training, so Aether could only go alone. However, this arcade would signal the start of everything.
