chapter 3 beach and assassins

  Nagasumi and sun were sitting down in his grandmothers porch, he had just finished his final round of morning jobs and workout routine. he was pleasantly surprised when he returned to see sun was waiting for him. she had a bento that she had made for him, she said something about man being a ship and woman harbor. nagasumi just laughed at this but thanked her, she really was too good for him. they ate their lunch together peacefully, when they saw ms. ren and masa walking up to them.

“good afternoon mother and masa, what brings you out here?” asked sun

“good morning sun and nagasumi, actually the reason i am out here is to have a talk with nagasumi”. said ren, nagasumi raised a eyebrow at this. after what went down last night he wondered what this was about.

“very well, allow me to make some tea for us”. said nagasumi as he was about to stand up

“oh no nagasumi, i’ll go take care of this excuse me”. said sun as she rushed off into the house

“alright then ms. ren and masa what is it that i can do for you today?”

“well nagasumi it’s about last night, you were in a fight with the head of the seto’s”.

“yes, i also spared his life”. said nagasumi blankly

“that is true, as well is that he is the one that provoked you. that being said i am here to offer a peaceful solution”.

“considering i really did almost kill him, this is surprising”. said nagasumi

“we of the seto’s have a code of honor, we had agreed to not get involved with you and sun’s relationship. my husband was directly defiant of that, even after you gave him a warning. nagasumi i truly do not want us to go to war with each other. to make it up to you and sun, i want to invite the both of you to one of our islands for a day of relaxation”. said ren as sun returned with the tea

“oh a day at the beach sounds like a great day”. said sun smiling at nagasumi

“you really wanna go to a island sun?”

“yeah it would be a fun way to spend my last day here”. she said while making a cute face

“you win”. he said smirking all things aside he knew asking sun to go with him to sitama was asking a lot. this was the least he could do.

” yay, i just need to go get a swimsuit”. said sun

“alright, say how far is this place anyway?” asked nagasumi

“oh it’s about a three-hour boat ride. said masa noticing a sickening look on nagasumi’s face. is there something wrong?” he asked

“ummm no, how big is the boat?”

seto’s home

we see a figure making its way to the master bedroom of the seto’s home. it opened the doors to a dark room as the sounds of a ekg machine was beeping. it made its way quickly, to gozaburo’s side. he was bandage up and breathing steadily.

“who the hell is there?”

“boss i came back as quickly as i could, who did this?”

“oh it’s you, i have a job for you?”

“just tell me the name boss, and they are as good as dead!”

“good now listen closely…”

off the shore of the island

sun was in aww as they came up to the island. nagasumi was surprised how big it was, for most of the trip he was able to fight off the motion sickness. it helped that they were on the water, and not land. the upside it wasn’t too bad so no one found out, he didn’t want anyone knowing about it.

“oh wow nagasumi, look we are here. i think we can go to shore now, let’s go”. said sun as she jumped into the water

“nagasumi we will return later today, please enjoy yourselves”. said masa

“thank you masa”. was all nagasumi said as he jumped in after sun

  they made it onto the shore quickly, as nagasumi picked her up . he needed to find a place to dry her off. he really needed to figure out if he could do this with his magic. sun pointed out a small house in the distance, they had it build for whenever they would visit. nagasumi looked around and realize that there wasn’t a single foot print in the sand. he opened the door to the home and walked in. he placed sun down and began to look around. but something felt off, he began to sniff the air.

“um nagasumi, what are you doing?”

there is someone else here sun. alright i don’t know who’s here. but if you want to live to see tomorrow, get out here now!”

nagasumi herd light footsteps getting closer. he quickly placed himself between it and sun. he was shocked to see a small humanize girl with a big shell strap to her back walk out from behind the door. she was wearing a purple kimono and had a helmet on her head that looked like a bucket.

“ah maki what are you doing here?” asked sun

“sun do you know this… person?” said nagasumi not really knowing what to call her

“ yeah that’s maki, she has been a friend of the family for years”. said sun

“is that right, so tell me what are you doing here maki?”

“oh well you see i wanted to come with ms. sun, having a day at the beach sounded like fun”.

“but maki this was suppose to be a day for just me and nagasumi”. said sun

“but ms. sun if this is your last day in seto, i wanted to spend it with you”. she said asking all sweetly.

“oh nagasumi, what should we do?” asked sun

“it can't be helped, she will just have to hang out with us”. was all nagasumi said as he proceeded to dry off sun’s tail. while he did that he felt like he was being stared at. he turned around and saw maki quickly turn her head.

“ is there something wrong?” he asked

“ oh no nothing, but i’d be happy to help out” .

“that's ok, look all done”. said nagasumi as sun's tail turned back to legs

“alright then, let’s go to the beach now” . said sun

they all went down to the beach, nagasumi began setting up a umbrella and beach chairs. 

“ um nagasumi, could you help me with something?” asked sun

“sure sun, what's the problem?”

“ oh well, the sun is pretty strong, could you put some sun screen on me?”

“yeah sure”.

  nagasumi grabbed the bottle as sun undid her top. he was about to move forward when he tilted his head and caught maki. the little konk was shocked, as she tried to think of what to say.

“is there something i can help you with?” asked nagasumi

“no way! how did you do that?” she asked in a state of shock

“the real question is, what are you doing?”

“what's going on?” asked sun turning around

“oh ms. sun, nagasumi was about to throw my shell away”. said maki playing victim

“is that true nagasumi?” asked sun but one look at his face told her all she needed to know.

“so tell me, is gozaburo behind this?”

“i don't know what you’re talking about?”

“sure you don’t, so did they tell you the warning i gave them? i told them if anyone tried anything… i would kill them”.

  maki was about to try and make a move when sun stood between them.

“stop nagasumi, maki is my friend. i’m sure she just over reacted”.

  nagasumi just stood there, looking at sun. he understood that she cared for her family. but he needed to make her see the truth. so he needed to play along.

“you know your right sun, i'm just overreacting”. he said as he placed maki down.

“well how about we go for a swim? the coral reef out here are beautiful. i’m sure nagasumi has never seen anything like it”. said maki

“she's right, nagasumi you can't see anything like this back home”. said sun

“yeah why not, i could go for a swim”.

  they all went into the ocean, diving deep into the sea. nagasumi began to feel the pressure of the water. it didn't take him long to realize that this was her plan. she must think that he couldn’t take the pressure, this would be easier then he thought. he began to play along, pretending to struggle. when sun saw this she rushed to get nagasumi back to the surface. she put him on the shore as it looked like nagasumi had passed out.
“oh ms. sun, i can't believe that this happened. how can you be with someone that can't be in the sea. i’ve said to much, why don't you go find a towel. you can't help him if you can't use your legs”. said maki as sun nodded and took off.

“(cough) that was (cough) dirty”.

“oh so your awake, you really did a number on the boss. now it's time to pay, you see i've been protecting sun for years. i’ll be dam if scum like you will get her. but i couldn't just kill you. if i did that ms. sun would be upset. so i had to make it look like an accident”.

“wait ms. ren said that we were good. was this a trap? did she set me up?”

“ms. ren don't know anything about this. but enough talk, it's time for you to die. she said while removing her shell and holding it like a cannon.

“what is that?” he asked weakly

“this is my liquid machine gun; it's ammo is unlimited. now die!”

  nagasumi’s eyes widen as maki pulled the trigger, the sound of the shell powering up grew louder as the water bullets began to fly. maki laughed maniacally as nagasumi screamed in pain. she did not let up until the screams stopped. as the dust cleared she saw nagasumi motionless, his head turned away.

“maki what did you do!” yelled sun running to nagasumi’s side

“ms. sun you don’t understand there was a snake and…”

“liar! i heard you say it would be an accident. how could you do this!” said sun on the verge of tears

“sun….” said nagasumi weakly 

“nagasumi your alive. don't move, i'll help you”.

“get out of the way ms. sun”. said maki her shell ready to go again

“no! i won't let you hurt nagasumi again, he did nothing wrong”. said sun putting herself between the two

“did nothing wrong, he nearly killed your father!”

“he chose to fight nagasumi, my dad is a grown man. nagasumi even tried to talk it out at first, but he wouldn’t listen”.

“ms. sun you are still to young to understand, but he is no good. he needs to die. now you may hate me for this, but in time you'll understand”. said maki getting ready to fire

“stop it maki!” yelled sun

“sun get out of the way”. said nagasumi

  sun turned back and was surprised when nagasumi stood up. she got out of the way, and before maki could fire nagasumi grabbed her and separated her from her shell. she tried to move but was unable to.

“let go of me!”

“sorry but you’re going to pay”.

“nagasumi wait”. said sun

“wait for what? for them to try to kill me again. sun you need to realize that they will not stop. how many more times do i have to let it go? tell me, if a rival gang had tried this to any of the seto’s would you tell them to let it go? no you would retaliate right; you would make an example. what makes this any different?”

  sun couldn't say anything, nagasumi was right. she has seen and done things like this before. what's more is that maki went against the seto’s word. her father had also gone back on his word again, even after being spared. she bowed her head in shame, the code she had lived by her whole life was being tarnished. when nagasumi saw this he turned back to maki. the little konk kept cursing, but nagasumi had enough. he began to squeeze, she felt as her bones begin to break. her screams getting louder, she began to spit out blood. her vision got blurrier; the last image was of nagasumi’s cold eyes. he dropped the little konk on the sand, as sun ran over to her. she began to cry as she held her friend, she could feel her heartbeat getting weaker.

“i’m sorry, but this had to be done”.

“but nagasumi, i don't want her to die. she is my friend”. said sun tears flowing down her face

  nagasumi let out a sigh, he hated that he made sun cry. but he needed to stop this, it was then he had an idea. away to get her to stop crying, and to get something he wanted.

“sun give her to me”.

“but why?”

“i am going to do something. but this is a one-time deal, after i'm done i will have a small conversation with maki. sun give me your word, that you will not interfere”.

“if you can save her then yes, i give you my word”.

  nagasumi felt bad, he didn’t want to do anything like this to sun. but it couldn't be help. he grab maki and walked over to the sea. he kneeled down and held her in the water, he had to hurry.

dragon arts secret technique: healing waters

  sun watched on, as the water around maki began to swirl around. it kept spinning till it turned into a  perfect small sphere. nagasumi began to pant heavily, as he concentrated harder on his magic. sun watched closely and was amazed, she saw how the wounds on maki began to close. after a few more moments the sphere dispersed, causing nagasumi to fall on his ass.

“nagasumi what did you do?”

“give it a minute”. he said as if on cue maki began to cough

“maki your alive!” said sun

“ms. sun what happened? i feel good as new”. said maki sitting up in her hand

“well nagasumi fixed you”.

“what!?”

“yeah he did some magic spell, and your all better?”

“um thank you?” she said as nagasumi stood up

“save your thanks, we are going into the woods for a little talk”.

  sun was about to say something, but a look from nagasumi reminded her of her promise. she didn’t know what was about to happen. but she had to stay out of it.

in the forest

  nagasumi and maki had been walking for awhile, they did not say a word. the assassin did not know what to do, not only did she not have her shell. but even if she did it wouldn't do her any good. they came to a small clearing, nagasumi pinned maki to a tree after words he tide her shell to his side. he then cut the tree infront of him, creating a seat for himself. he just started at her for a few minutes, not saying a word. before maki broke the silence.

“what do you want?”

“to spend quality time with you?”

“cut the crap! your trying to get me to talk. it will never work, do your worst!”

“that's right, i've read all about the yakuza. you guys are loyal to a fault and would rather die then talk”.

“that's right!”.

“then this is going to be along day”.

  the forest were filled with the screams of pain. from the beach all sun could hear is maki begging to stop. her heart felt heavy as she could do nothing. nagasumi began with using his fingers to break her bones one at a time. he would then heal her. the next step was using a fire to slowly cook her alive. the pain was excruciating, as the vicious cycle of pain and healing. being brought to the brink of death over and over again. in another case he felt like returning the favor from earlier, using his magic to shoot water bullets to break her apart. he then used her water cannon to recharge. to his surprise the water had magic, this was something to look into later. the next part required focus, as nagasumi used his water to make blades and slice her up.  he made sure not to hit her vidal’s. he kept this up till it looked like she was going to bleed out. this type of things continued as the day dragged out. till the sun began to set. maki just hung there, if you where to look into her eyes you could see that she was broken. her will to fight was gone, her mind broken. the sounds of nagasumi’s footsteps getting closer making her tense up. she felt her hair being grabbed, as she locked eyes with her tormentor.

“what's wrong? did i not heal you properly? you see the thing about being tortured is that usually the person has to stop at one point. if they don’t, then they risk killing their capture. but as you can see with me that's not a problem. now then, i know you are wondering what's next. now i won't keep you waiting”.

“…stop…”.

“what was that?” he said leaning in

“stop… no more”.

“why would we stop? aren't you having fun?”

“i'll serve… i'll be of service to you”.

“oh, will you really go against the seto’s?” didn't you take a vow?”

“we can't win, if i serve you, will you spare ms. sun?”

“sun was never in any danger, but you need to keep this in mind. if you cross me in anyway i will wipe the seto gang of the face of the earth”.

“i understand, i will do what you say”.

“good then, let’s get started”.

  maki’s eyes widen, she thought she was about to be torture again. but let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding, when nagasumi took her off the tree. he placed her down on the stoop when he placed her shell next to her. nagasumi sat on the floor in front of her, as she turned to her shell. nagasumi watched in curiosity, the little konk seemed almost afraid to reach for it. she turned to nagasumi who signaled her that it was ok. she grabbed her shell and tide it to her back and kneeled there in place. she almost looked like a little doll.

“boss, wouldn't you like to sit here?”

“no it's fine, and don't call me boss. i will allow you to call me nagasumi”.

“i understand, so what happens next?”

“well for starters you will become my spy, i need to know what's going on with the seto’s that involves me. also i want to know what you all have ties in. either then that, you will return and act normal. they must never know”.

“i understand, i will tell you what i know”.

  maki went on to explain what she knew. after they where done nagasumi picked her up and they walked back to the beach.

the beach shore

   sun looked on it was beginning to get dark when she saw the two of them. there was a bit of relief when they both looked to be ok.

“you two are back. what happened in there?” asked sun

“oh nothing, we just had a nice, civilized talk. ain't that right maki?”

“yup that's right ms sun, me and nagasumi are good friends now”. said maki in her innocent voice

“but i heard all this screaming”.

“oh it’s nothing to worry about”.

“he's right ms sun, besides it looks like the boat is back”.

  they all turned around to see the boat. not really wanting to keep this conversation going, nagasumi hurried them up. they all boarded the boat, as they made their way back nagasumi excused himself.

“never thought i'd see the day maki the konk failed”. said one of the thugs

“ shut up! i just didn’t feel like it today”.

the next day at the train station

  nagasumi, sun and his parents where at the train station. it was finally the day for them to go back to sitama. since nagasumi had maki shut up about what happened there where no questions asked. but ren knew better.

“well it looks like it's almost time to go”. said nagasumi

“nagasumi please do your best watching over our sun”. ren

“you can count on me. but i do have a favor to ask of you”. said nagasumi

“this is surprising, what is it that we can do for you?” asked ren

“i would like for seto’s to watch out for my grandmother. she may be a strong and independent woman. (he said while hugging her) but she does need some help, like when she needs groceries or help in her garden. if any of your people need to get paid do not bother her, just bill me and i will take care of it”.

“that is no problem at all, being your grandmother she is family as well. we of the seto’s always look out for our own, and don’t worry nagasumi i will personally choose the people that will assist your grandmother”.  said ren, she thought this was a great way to make it up to nagasumi for everything that had happened.

“nagasumi, you don’t have to worry about me so much”. said his grandmother seeing how much of a fuss they are making over her.

“but i want to make sure your ok grandma, if anything ever happens you call me ok. i promise i’ll be here as fast as the tides can bring me. i love you grandma, thank you for everything”. he said trying not to cry, while he was happy moving forward with sun. he was going to miss his grandmother.

“now, now no need for tears. you just do your best to be a good man and make me proud”. she said giving him one last hug before they left.

“yes mam”. was all he said

“mother, masa i will miss you”. said sun

“we will miss you too. i’m sure your father feels the same way. now do your best to be a good wife to nagasumi and enjoy your life to the fullest” said ren hugging her daughter.

“ms. sun i am sad to see you go, but please keep up with your sword training”. said masa

“i will masa”. said sun giving him a hug as well

“well you guys it’s time to get going, the train will be leaving soon”. said nagasumi’s dad getting their attention

“please don’t worry so much about sun, we promise to take good care of her. it’s like a dream, i always wanted a daughter”. said his mom

they all began to walk away turning back one last time to wave goodbye. this was it, a new start for all of them. one thing was for sure nothing will be the same. they were making their way through the train as the father was looking at their tickets trying to figure out where their seats where. it was then that nagasumi placed his hand on his shoulder, to get his attention.

“what is it nagasumi? did you find our seats?” asked his father

“actually no, but here take these and walk that way?” he said giving his father different tickets

“what are these?” asked his mother looking at the new tickets.

“what! nagasumi these are tickets for a private cart! how did you get these?” asked his father (they weren’t cheap)

“i paid for them, now get going. the cart comes with meals of your choosing, so enjoy”. he said while grabbing sun’s hand and leading her in the opposite direction

“but wait where are you going?” asked his mother

“i got a different cart for me and sun, by the way when we get back to sitama just go straight home. we will meet you there”.

later that day on the road

  sun was sitting next to the window of a very spacious cart when they had arrived nagasumi put their things up and sat with her for a while. but after they started moving he ran to the restroom of their cart, but he had been there ever since. she began to get worried however and decided to knock on the door.

“nagasumi are you ok?’ you been in there for a long time ya see. i’m beginning to get worried”. said sun but there was no answer instead there was a paper slid beneath the door.

“(sun i dint want you to worry, so i wrote this in advance. the truth is i had to lock myself in here because of a condition that comes from being a dragonslayer. you see when we are in a vehicle we get a case of extreme motion sickness, to the point that we are immobilized. this is the reason i paid for us to be in private carts, i cant let anyone know what can hurt me. the other reason is that i did not want you to see me in this state. please if you want to do anything for me then make sure no one comes into this room at all. when we get to sitama and the train stops i will be return to normal. i am sorry that i kept this from you, but i will explain everything”.  sun just stood there taking everything in. she didn't fully understand what was going on but she knew what she had to do. she went into her luggage and pulled her sword. she sat there patiently, one thing was for sure no one was getting in.


few hours later sitama train station

  after what seemed like a eternity, the train finally pulled into sitama. nagasumi started to get his bearings, he looked into the mirror to clean himself up. after a moment he felt good as new. he really needed to figure this out, there had to be away to stop this. he walked out the restroom to see sun kneeling there. her eyes trained on the door leading out.

“nagasumi, your ok”. said sun getting up and hugging him

“yeah i'm good as knew, i'm sorry that i worried you”.

“nagasumi what happened to you?” she asked worriedly which crushed nagasumi

“hey no need to get worried. come on i’ll explain on the way”.

  nagasumi grabbed all their belongings and tide them with a rope. he led her out and grab the rest of their things. sun wanted to help, but nagasumi said no. they drew eyes as they saw nagasumi walk out of the station, carrying all their luggage on his back.

“so nagasumi, are you going to tell me exactly what happened?”

“well it's really simple to explain, my master told me about a curse. apparently no matter who it is, dragonslayer’s can't deal with transportation”.

“you mean like cars and things like that?”

“yeah, for the most part”.

“is this why you went away on the boat?” 

“yes, sorry i know that you wanted us to ride together but for now i can’t “.

“no it's ok nagasumi, but why didn't you tell me?”

“in all honestly, i'm embarrassed. i'm the guy that can go to war with anyone, but i can't even enjoy a ride with my girl. how pathetic is that”.

“but i don’t think it's pathetic at all. nagasumi i am your future wife, i'll stand by you”.

“your to good for me you know. but to tell you the truth, there has to be away to get over this”.

“what do you mean?”

“well for instance, on the boat it wasn't that bad. maybe because it was water? then my master told me that some slayers were able to fly with a partner. how the hell does that make sense? is it really a state of mind? since i got back i've read about motion sickness. it apparently had to deal with the brain getting mixed signals. in the end i'll find away, if it’s a state of mind i'll kick it in the ass”.

“i know you can nagasumi, and i'll help you out anyway i can”.

  nagasumi just smiled, he new the road ahead would be hard but he would find away.

nagasumi’s home

  after sometime walking they made it to nagasumi’s home. it was a two story home in a quite neighborhood. as they walked nagasumi showed sun a few places, like the store and the park. as they approached the front of the house they saw nagasumi’s parents waiting.

“oh mother, father your home already”. said sun

“well yeah, we took a cab. nagasumi do you need any help with that?” asked his father

“no, this is nothing michishio. but i would like if you got out of my way. i want to show sun to our room”. said nagasumi

“our room?” the three said in unison

“yes, sun will be staying in my room with me”. he said blankly

“what do you mean young man! are you planning on doing something indecent with sun!” said his mother looking like she was going to pounce.

“nagasumi your mother is right. we where actually going to think of putting you in the attic”. said his father, choosing his words carefully.

“i don’t plan on doing anything of the sort, also i won’t allow myself or sun to live in a attic. to put your mind at ease, i don’t plan on bathing or changing with sun any time soon. if she has a problem then ill go find a room to stay in, but if she doesn’t then this conversation is over”. said nagasumi as they all turned to sun

“no nagasumi i don’t mind sharing a room”. said sun

“then it’s settle”. said nagasumi making his way towards the door

“now wait a minute! sun are you really ok with this?” asked nagasumi’s mother

“yeah, i mean if nagasumi said it will be ok then that its good enough for me”.

“i thought i said that was the end of the conversation”. said nagasumi getting their attention “not that i care, but you really don’t have to worry about me and her being alone. especially with that stole away”. he said pointing at suns bag

  they all turned to see sun as she reached for her bag. the three of them hovered over it as they slowly opened it. sun let out a gasp as she saw her little friend eating some food.

“ah maki! what are you doing here?’ asked sun

“oh ms. sun i couldn’t stand the thought of you coming out here all alone. so i came along to be with you”. said maki jumping up and hugging her

“oh nagasumi what should we do?” asked sun

“if she can make sure she doesn’t get spotted by a human, then i will allow her to stay. she will also stay with us in our room, i will find away to fix her a bed or something”. said nagasumi leading them into the house

  nagasumi’s mother wanted to protest but her husband put his hand on her shoulder. he just shook his head getting her to stop, he wanted to find a better way to deal with his son. but after what had happened in seto, he thought best not to piss him off. nagasumi put the bags down as he showed the girls around their new home. he lead them to their new room, as he open the door he felt nostalgic and shame. the girls were looking around, noticing all the video games, comics, and manga. it really didn’t resemble the nagasumi they knew. in his defense it has been two years since he’s been here. they began to clean up the room, taking down most of his things. they took a few short breaks in between to eat and rest. when they were done cleaning it was time to make sun feel more at home. nagasumi asked if there was anything he could do for her. she responded by pulling out a few paper lanterns from her belongings that read seto gang. he laughed a bit but hung them up for her. this was more or less how they spent their first day in sitama. the day ended with nagasumi, and sun passed out holding each other.

the next day

  the sun began to rise as it was the start of a new day. nagasumi began to stir as he felt heavier for some reason. he slowly opened his eyes to see that it was sun resting her head on his chest. he smiled at this, she looked cute as hell, and it reminded him how lucky he was. he then turned his head to his dresser to check the time, when he spotted maki sitting there staring at them.

“good morning maki, did you sleep well?”

“well actually, i haven’t slept at all”. said maki, nagasumi noticing the bags under her eyes

“what do you mean you haven’t slept? was the pillow and blanket not good enough for you?”

“no it’s not that, this was the first night here. i was worried someone would try something. i stayed up watching over the both of you”.

“oh, well that was kind of you. but you shouldn’t worry, i don’t have any enemies here in sitama. but now then get some rest, i have a few things to take care of today”.

“i should help”. said maki

“not up for debate, get rest maki”. he said in a stern tone, she just nodded and moved over to her pillow and embraced sweet, sweet sleep. it was then sun began to stir, opening her eyes and seeing nagasumi

“good morning sun, did you sleep well?” he said smirking noticing the blush on her face

“ah! i’m sorry nagasumi. i didn’t mean to use you like a pillow”.

“ha ha, hey feel free to use me how ever you want”. and that’s the moment sun blushed and turned redder then a tomato

“(is she a closet perve?)” thought nagasumi. “anyway, sun you should get dressed”.

“oh are we going somewhere today?”

“yup, we are going into town. i kind of need a few things and i’m pretty sure that you would want to take in the sites”.

  sun nodded happily, as nagasumi let himself out so that she could get ready. after they got ready and had some breakfast, they made their way to town. nagasumi struggled with the bus ride, but as soon as he got off it he was good as new. sun said they could walk but nagasumi told her that wouldn’t be possible. considering how many stores they had to go to when they got to town. she soon forgot about it when they reach the market area. nagasumi took her around and laughed at her when she kept freaking out about how good some of the deals were. then after they had done some shopping he took her to the arcade. he just stood there smiling, she had been acting extremely cute when she went to war against a whack a mole machine. they had a bite to eat before nagasumi slipped away to make a few purchases. there day being over a lot sooner then they thought, they decide to walk home. nagasumi and sun where rounding the corner onto a bridge when they heard a commotion from the other side. looking across the street they saw these two older guys. one had black hair that was held back by a white bandana. he seem to be pretty build and was wearing a regular shirt and jeans. he was also wearing a purple jacket with the sleeves torn off. the  other had blond shoulder length hair, and just like his friend was built, wearing jeans and a shirt as well. but he wore a red jacket with the sleeves torn off.  the two were bothering some girls in uniforms. it seemed that they wanted a date, but the girls weren’t interested.

“nagasumi look, those guys are harassing those girls. we should do something about it. hey, you third rate scum! get away from those girls”. 

“sun stop, don’t go picking a fight. not that it would be a problem, but why do we need to get involve?” he asked wondering her reason

“nagasumi, if there are people in trouble and you can do something about it, you should”. she said as somehow rose petals began to fall.

“well if that’s the case, then allow me to…”. he was not able to finish as someone else arrived

“you two over there, leave those girls alone!”

  they all turned to see a small girl with purple hair and a white clip on holding a few of her bangs away from her eye. she was wearing a pink schoolgirls uniform. she had a whistle in her hand, that she used to distract the two guys allowing the girls to slip away. this angered the two older guys.

“what did you do that for!” yelled one of the guys

“those girls where about to go out with us”. said the other

“you two really are idiots, if you think you had a chance with those girls”.

“what did you say? you looking for a fight?” said the one in the purple

“please, i’m not the one that’s going to fight you he is”. said the girl pointing over to nagasumi. although she did have to do a double take. at first she believed that she had made a mistake, but one look at his hair. and she was convinced it was him

“you haven’t changed one-bit mawari, still picking fights i see”. said nagasumi

“what do you mean? i am trying to teach them the rules of this society. besides i know why you told that girl not to get into a fight with them. it’s because you wanted to take them on by yourself. your always trying to show off”. said mawari smiling

“he was? i am an utter failure as a wife, i need to let my husband show off from time to time. get ready you third-rate scum! nagasumi is going to teach you a lesson!” she said getting nagasumi to smirk, after all he couldn’t really disappoint her now could he. he turned back to see mawari running up to them.

“so you little bastard, are you the one that thinks he can take us!’. said the one in the red

“hey, hold on a sec, this guy has a really cute girl with him. tell you what kid if you leave your little friend here with us. then we will forgive you”. said the one in the purple

“ha ha, you two really don’t realize what you have done have you. you see today was my girls first day to the city. i tried to make it a good memory, however you two have ruined that. you get one chance, get down on your knees and apologize. if you both do, then the beating you receive won’t be that bad. but if you don’t, i’ll make sure that your memory of today will make your hell seem like heaven”.

  the two of them took a quick step back, before cocking their fist back and charging. nagasumi just stood there, compared to the mur folk these two seemed to be moving in slow motion. he quickly avoided both of them, delivering a quick strike to their knees and throats. the two began to cough heavily before they got grabbed by the back of their necks and dragged towards the side of the bridge. nagasumi demonstrated his strength by easily picking them both up, he dangled them over the river. the two tried to beg, but couldn’t speak yet. nagasumi turned back to the girls, telling them both not to worry that they where just going for a swim. sun just nodded and mawari was going to protest, having thought this had gone too far. but to late for that, nagasumi jumped in with the both of them. nagasumi hit the water first making sure he disrupted the water, not wanting to knock out the two guys. nagasumi quickly took the three of them away, so that no one could see anything. he threw both of them to the shore before jumping out himself. the two had a look of fear in their eyes as nagasumi got closer. they tried to run, but before they could move nagasumi was there nailing them with a few strikes to the body. he purposely held back enough to not break their bones, but he tormented them constantly this way. they were getting beaten all over, it didn’t matter which way they ran. to them it appeared nagasumi was teleporting, it was driving them insane. it seemed like there was no escape, no hope and no mercy. after a bit more of this the two were reduced to staying in the fetal position.

“what’s wrong with you two?”

“please let us go”. said the one in the red

“yes, we are sorry. we won't do this type of thing again”. said the guy in the purple

“oh, why the change of heart? come on where’s that bravado from earlier?”

“we were wrong, we see that now”. they both said

“let me ask you two something. you two seem like decent guys. why act like assholes?” he said as the two sat up

“it's not our fault”. said the one in the red

“how do you figure that?” asked nagasumi

“we are not bad people it’s just we don't know how to act from time to time”. said the one in the purple

“is that right, say what are your names”.

“oh i’m ken and this is my best friend ryu”. said the one in the red (ken)

“ken and ryu? where your parents into games by chance?” said nagasumi finding their names amusing

“well we wouldn’t know, we are both orphans”. said ryu

“yeah, we grew up together before getting adopted. luckily the people that adopted us lived near each other”.

“that's some luck, alright you two i got a deal for you. why don't you two join up with me?” said nagasumi getting confused looks from the guys

  nagasumi went onto explain what he meant, while getting to know them more. when they where done the three of them walked back towards the bridge. when the girls spotted them they ran over.

“nagasumi your ok, i was getting worried”. said sun giving him a quick hug

“what the hell happened out there! you three need a lesson on the rules of this society”. yelled mawari

“how about no, besides boys you got anything to say”.  said nagasumi as ken and ryu walked over to and got on their knees

“ms. sun, ms. mawari we are sorry”. they both said at the same time

“it’s ok you two, since y’all apologize. now we can all move forward, and be friends”. said sun smiling

“what the hell is going on? why are you two acting like this? what did nagasumi do to you two? asked mawari

'what do you mean? ms. mawari do you not accept our apology? “asked ryu

"that’s not what i meant. nagasumi what did you do to them?"

"me? what ever do you mean?  after they accidently fell from the bridge, i jumped in to save them. but the little scamps were so grateful, they just wanted to play and play. bless their hearts, i just couldn't tell them no". said nagasumi innocently to piss of mawari

"he’s right, the boss risked his life to save us". said ken

"(boss?)” thought sun

“anyway, you two get going now. don’t cause anymore trouble. i will speak to y’all later". they both just nodded and took off before bein asked anything else

“ nagasumi, did you make some new friends?” asked sun

“yeah, their not bad guys. they just needed some one to talk to. now come on sun let’s get going”.

“ok”. said sun as nagasumi took her by her hand. they began to walk before a whistle started to go off

“hold on a minute nagasumi michisio! where do you think you are going? there are so many things you need to explain. now get to talking! who is this girl? why do you look so differently? and what did you do to those two?! asked mawari… well yelled really

“this is sun, as for your other questions. i have no reason to answer them”. said nagasumi as they began to walk away

“what did you say to me!” yelled mawari as she flipped out and grabbed nagasumi by his collar

“that was a mistake”.  was all nagasumi said before grabbing marwari’s hands and slammed her to the ground. she got the wind knocked out of her, before nagasumi stood over her.

“who said you could touch me? listen very closely, the nagasumi you knew and stepped on is gone. i don't care if you’re a man, woman or even a beast. you do not put your hands on me. second remember, your father is a cop you are nothing”.

  mawari just laid there as she saw nagasumi and that sun girl walk away. tears began to fall from her eyes, she didn't know what was going on but needed to get to the bottom of this.

a few weeks later

  it has been a few weeks since the day at the bridge. a few things to note is nagasumi has been working hard on his magic control. school was about to start and he wanted to make sure he could keep sun safe. he trained on how fast he could dry her off. he then focused on being able to pull water without having to consume it. it took time but he is now able to pull a good amount towards him . although not at the level he wanted, he was confident that would be of great use later on. sun for the most part was getting settled in quite nicely. nagasumi’s parents were so happy that she was there. his mother especially, always wanting to have a daughter. sun was even trying to mend the relationship of nagasumi and his father. although this wouldn’t be resolved so quickly, they where on speaking terms at least. he kept researching motion sickness, trying to find away around it. he also kept getting reports from maki, the seto’s where up to something. sun also did her own type of training. nagasumi was helping her with staying in human form. she had thought she was to young, but nagasumi told her your never to young to train. while she was still no were near able to stop, she did began to develop a resistance. she could handle small amounts, but no more then a cup or two of water. they lucked out one day when it rained, but still no dice. they were both relentless, both wanting to get stronger for the sake of one another. but it wasn't all train and no play. they still went out from time to time, nagasumi made it a point so she new the city backwards and forwards. he even surprised her one day. he had gone out early and when he returned he called sun outside. but everyone wanted to see what the yelling was about.

“oh wow nagasumi, you got a new bike”. said sun seeing him standing next to it

“yeah i figured it would be easier to get around this way”. he said smirking, apparently riding a bike is ok

“that's a nice bike nagasumi, but why did you buy one?” asked his father

“he’s right nagasumi, if you need to get around you could use the train, bus or we could drive you”. said his mother

“i just wanted a bike, that sun and i could go for a ride”.

“you mean just like in the movies”. said sun her eyes sparkling

“that’s right”. he said he knew sun loves classic movies and shows. and having your girl sit behind you when you ride is classic.

“nagasumi, nagasumi! i got the new fighting game”.

  the three of them turned around, as a boy ran into view. he was a small kid who was rather harry, he had spiky brown hair and a stubble on his face. it almost looked like a beard, it also made him look more like a chimp.

“ oh hey chimp, it's been awhile. did you just get back from vacation?” asked nagasumi although he noticed he wasn’t being heard

“oh wow you are so beautiful, my name is chimp who are you?” he asked as he kept drooling, but before sun could answer chimp was…

“ hey dumbass, your drooling. her name is sun and she's my future bride”. he said while holding up chimp in midair from his skull. he applied pressure to get the point across

“nagasumi, is this a friend of yours?” asked sun as chimp began to twitch

“you could say that, we been best friends for years. but he was always the one to get us into trouble, but always bailed and left me to die didn't you”. he said relaxing his grip and dropping chimp on his ass

“no that’s not true, oh sun he's such a bully? (said chimp crying anime tears). but wait nagasumi, you said future bride! what happened over the summer? and why do you look so differently?” nothing makes sense any more!” said chimp freaking out

“ i guess you could call it a arranged marriage. but it's true, so knock it off with the flirting”.

“what got into you? look if she’s your bride then yeah i’ll back off. i’m your friend after all. sooooo do you have any sisters or friends?” said chimp going all crazy again

“ well i do have a few friends, but they are all back in seto”. she answered trying not to laugh at his antics. although she quickly remembered a certain pink haired friend that lived near. maybe she should go visit one day

“i see, so your from seto. well it’s nice to meet you. are you going to attend our school as well?” asked chimp, nagasumi watched on pleasantly surprised. chimp was actually being respectful

“yeah i start tomorrow with you and nagasumi. i hope we can all get along. so you brought a game?” asked sun getting back to the original reason he came

“oh yeah, look nagasumi it’s the latest fighting game. how about we all play together?”

“sounds like fun nagasumi, i never got to play a game like this”. said sun looking over the game

“ sure why not, it’s been awhile since i gamed”.

  chimped cheered as nagasumi put up the bike. they all made their way inside, as sun and chimp continue to talk to each other. nagasumi set up his system before excusing himself. he walked out of their room and was confronted by maki.

“nagasumi who is that? he’s getting to close to ms. sun”. she said while preparing her water cannon

“his name is chimp, he's a old friend. you are not allowed to harm him. is there any word from the seto’s?”

“yes sir, and actually yes. i have a few things to report”.

  maki went on to explain what was going on. apparently the seto's have been busy, the rest of the day they all just hung out and gamed. nagasumi explained that they will still be walking to school together.  chimp was happy he thought they were going to ditch him when he saw the bike.

the next day

it was early in the morning as we see nagasumi making his way back home. he wanted to get some early morning training, he also had to take care of a few things. he jumped up to the rooftop of his home, he wanted to see the sun rise. he sat out there for awhile as he went over what maki had told him, he was brought out of his thoughts when he heard sun calling for him.

“nagasumi! breakfast is ready”.  she said as nagasumi landed infront of her

“good morning sun, wow you look amazing”. said nagasumi seeing sun in her uniform for the first time

“stop it your making me blush”. said sun as nagasumi just hugged her and carried her back into the house

“oh good morning nagasumi, where you on the roof again?” asked his mother as she was setting the table for breakfast

“i was, how are you this morning?” he asked

“oh well so far so good, your father left for work already. he didn’t even have time for breakfast. but that’s ok, are you two excited for today?”

“yes mother, it’s a new school and i cant wait to make more friends”. said sun

“which reminds me, are you two going to wear your wedding rings to school?’ she asked those two hadn’t taken them off since they bought them for each other.

“yes we are, as far as anyone is concern you and michishio made a arrange marriage for me and sun”.

“oh an arrange marriage, but how do you explain sun living with us so soon?”

“her parents asked that we take her in. if they ask any more then i will deal with them”. said nagasumi that last part making his mother nervous.

  nagasumi finished their breakfast and finish getting ready. they began to walk to school, after a few minutes chimp had joined them. he had apologized, apparently his little sister took forever to get ready for her school. they walked and talked till they got to the front of the school. when they arrive all the boys immediately began to stare at sun. while the girls where checking him out. he also notice mawari blowing her whistle like crazy, he just sighed as he hurry them up to the inside. he walked her over to the main office to finish her paper work and get her schedule. he offered to wait for her but she didn't want him to be late for class. he hugged her goodbye and they walked to their homeroom. when they arrive they realized they where early, and just took their seats. chimp wanted to talk, but nagasumi ignored him and pulled out a book.

“hey nagasumi, what are you reading?” he asked wanting to get a conversation going

“oh well it’s a medical book, there’s a few things i want to look up”. he said not taking his eyes off the book as the rest of the students walked in

“oh medical, you trying to be a doctor?”

“doctor nagasumi, that would be something”. said mawari getting their attention

“oh good morning mawari”. said chimp as they turned to nagasumi, who didn't bother looking up

“you know nagasumi, it’s usually polite to say good morning”. said mawari

“who said i was polite?” was all he said as he turned the page

“good morning everyone”. said a girl with green hair and glasses

“ah hello class rep. check out nagasumi, he's all different now”. said chimp as the class rep turned her attention to nagasumi who was still reading

“oh my nagasumi you look different”.

“i do? didn’t notice”. he said getting them all to sweat drop

“ok nagasumi, you need to tell me what's going on with you”. said mawari

“i need to?” said nagasumi putting his book down and staring down mawari

“ wait mawari, we don't have time for this. there’s a new teacher today”. said class rep

“a new teacher? i think you mean student”. said chimp

“no i was told in the office this morning”. she replied

“this is interesting, but i was sure it was the girl that was with nagasumi”. said mawari going into detective mode

  they didn't have to wait long, the bell rang and the door opened. chimp ran over to welcome the new student, but ran into a wall. he looked up at said wall and it had a evil look.

“oh hello, i thought you were the new student”.

“oh you thought i was the new student? and you were going to run up and get your filthy hands on her!?”

  chimp was about to try and say something, but to late. the whole classroom watch as in slow motion, chimp was sent flying when he got clocked in the face. before anyone could process what happened the man walked in.

“alright you maggots, i’m the new boss of this outfit. i mean class, the names gozaburo seto! now then we have a new student”. he said calling in the new student

“ good morning everyone, i am sun seto. it’s a pleasure to meet yawl”. she said with a bow and immediately all the boys were mesmerized

  after that there was a joke by the teacher, that sun should sit up front next to him. but she blew him off and walk to the back, sitting next to nagasumi. it was then that they locked eyes. there a brief staring contest but class rep broke it saying that class should start. but nagasumi had other plans, he turn to see chimp laying there twitching. it seemed that everyone forgot about him, he stood up and picked his friend off the floor. he then began to walk out

“where the hell do you think your going?” said gozaburo

“i’m taking my friend here to the nurse. some idiot clocked him, and he needs help”.

“who the hell you calling a idiot you piss ant!” yelled gozaburo

“who the hell you calling a piss ant?” said nagasumi turning his head back. the look in his eyes made gozaburo grit his teeth.

“nagasumi, you should probably hurry and take chimp to the nurse”. said sun trying to break the tension. nagasumi just nodded and walked out

nurses office

  nagasumi opened the door and walked in placing chimp in one of the beds.

“oh my, what happened to him?” asked the nurse

“your husband thought it was appropriate to knock his ass out. so mind if i ask what are y’all doing here?” said nagasumi not bothering to turn around

“my it seems that you know it was me”. said ren

“your sent gives it away. mur folk tend to smell different then humans”.

“well nagasumi, i hope i smelled good”.  said ren making him sweat drop

“i didn't mean it like that. anyway how many of you here? also what about my grandmother?”

“straight to business i see. well it’s my husband, masa, fujishiro and a few others. but only the four of us are at the school. your grandmother is fine, i left some of my best men with her. she’s so sweet, every time they go she makes them a home cook meal. they love her”.

“that's good to hear, thank you for that. but how did you guys get employed here so fast?”

“oh well that was rather  easy. we have friends on the school board. they set everything up, i’m even a registered nurse”.

“i see, are yawl staying near my home as well?”

“oh no need to worry, we got a place near the school. now may i ask you something?”

“yeah go ahead”. he said happy that what maki reported to him was correct 

“how has sun been? is everything been going ok?”

“yes actually, she seems happy. why don't yall come over for dinner. i’m sure sun would be happy”.

“well that sounds like fun”. was all ren said as nagasumi excused himself

  nagasumi began to make his way back to class, when a familiar scent caught his attention. he turned and at the other end of the hall stood a blonde tall man. he made a b line to nagasumi, getting right into his face.

“what do you want fujishiro?”

“nagasumi what are you doing walking the halls? and here i’m a teacher, so you will respect me”. he said while bearing his teeth

“i’m in the hall because of your dumbass boss. but tell you what, beat me in a fight and maybe i’ll respect you”.

  fujishiro snapped and leaped at nagasumi. nagasumi blocked him and threw his ass out the window. he leaped right after him, as he saw fujishiro hit the floor but rolled through. ignoring the glass that imbedded to him fujishiro attacked. but this time nagasumi lunged forward cutting off his advance and nailing him in the jaw with a powerful right. fujishiro was rocked, he spat out a tooth in his dazed state.

“stop nagasumi!” yelled sun as she and the other seto’s rushed over.

  nagasumi did stop, then turning his attention to the floor picking up the tooth. masa and gozaburo walked over to the shark, who was still out of it.

“what the hell’s going on?” yelled gozaburo

“your pet wanted to play”. was nagasumi’s response

“fujishiro what's this all about?. asked ren

“that boy insulted the boss. why are we letting him get away with this?”

“that’s some logic you got there. listen while i do respect you standing up for your boss, i won’t over look you disrespecting me. listen up all of you, i don’t care of you work for this school. it makes sun happy, right?” he turned to sun

“yeah having them here does, i’m glad to see y’all”. she said while giving a hug to her mom

“good, now listen closely. i don't care what you got planned gozaburo. i know you’re here to be a over protective father. so bring it on! come at me with everything you got.  but if you think that i’ll be the one looking over my shoulder, your dead wrong. so get excited. this is going to be a hell of a year.



and done…. dam this took awhile sorry if it didn’t have much action but i do hope you liked it. but i wonder what does he have plan for those guys? and what does he mean by get excited? and who knew he could be so cold. well i’ll guess we will find out together yay




nagasumi’s home

nagasumi walked to the door of his house and opened it.
“so you’re the new guy. you seem pretty strong. said the person

“yeah but who are you? you smell like dragons”. said nagasumi tensing up a bit he could tell this person was strong

“oh well i’m naruto, and i’m not here for you. i’m here for him”. he said pointing being nagasumi to …… me?

“ooh hey naruto, it’s been awhile, you look good”. i said backing away slowly

“and who’s fault is that? now you know what to do” he said smiling evilly

“yeah sure i’m almost done with your my one too”.

“hey don't forget me”. said nagasumi

“yeah no problem, i’ll keep on yours too”. i said sitting in the corner  typing

“ alright i'm up next believe it” said naruto
