Alex Asic walked towards Nicole, grinning broadly. She was tense all over. From just kicking the first guys ass. From old memory's of Alex beating her up. And of course because she was in an extremely scary situation.

He was, and always had been stronger than her. At the orphanage he had always managed to beat her up. That's when the Director had given her the advice on using strategy. So she would use strategy now, just like she had been for the past twenty-four hours.

As Alex made it to the field from the the stairs, he kept walking towards as if he was in no hurry. Nicole ignored the announcer saying that the time was starting, and instead focused on her adversary. Once he was within a hundred meters in front her, she started backing up. Keeping a large distance between them.

Alex smirked at her obvious fear of him.

Pride flowed through every limb of her body as she just wanted to walk right up to him and wipe it right off of his face. But she couldn't. Angry, she kept backing up. Always keeping the large distance between them.

If Alex were to come within twenty feet of her, she was done. Whereas she had stamina while being fast, he had a faster sprint. Plus he outweighed her by one hundred pounds. She had also grown up with him, so he knew all of the tricks she might try and pull.

So many disadvantages were pointed in her way. But Nicole did have one advantage, to keep the distance between the two of them. And she would be damned if she couldn't.

Alex, starting to get bored, stood straighter and walked towards her with his long legs. Eating up the distance that was between them. Knowing she couldn't match his walking speed, she set off at a slow run. Positive she wouldn't get tired from it, and also to stay away from Alex.

As Nicole started her run, so did he. Eating up the distance faster now. She went faster, trying to calm her panic as he did to. He sped up each time she did, forcing her to go faster and faster. Until they were both sprinting to their fastest extent on the field.

Nicole felt good. Only a little winded and tired from her earlier fight. But when she glanced back, she almost tripped as Alex was right on her tail. He could have reached out and touched her right then and there, but the hunter wanted to play with his prey at the moment.

More adrenaline soared through her limbs, making them feel tingly. Her nerves themselves felt like they were excited. And with this new found eternal drug, Nicole went faster than she had every gone before. Her legs flying, and a little out of control at the speed.

Alex's footsteps faded away, and she chanced a glance back to see he was slowing down. She immediately did to, but kept a nice jog to ensure the distance between them grew.

She tried to stay serious, knowing she was far from being safe. But a small smile danced on her lips.

A loud roar came from the crowd. Nicole danced away from the edge, and stared around, her mouth open with fear. She quickly closed it as she soon realized they were just booing Alex. She glanced over to see his face going red with embarrassment, and couldn't help but smirk at him.

He glowered at her, and the raw anger shown plainly on his face, wiped the smirk off her face. Her feet started backing away from him. Wanting to get as far from him as she could within the in closed walls. He advanced towards her. Slowly at first and then picking up the speed. She copied his speed. Until they were sprinting along the wall once again.

She knew this time that if Alex got to close to her this time, he would catch her. Fear started fluttering around in her stomach, as her legs started cramping up from fatigue.

A sharp pain started from the bottom of her rib to the top of her hip. Her feet burned with every step on the hot ground. Randomly stepping on sharp rocks, resulting in cuts. Pain started behind her eyes from dehydration. Her body was failing her. From fatigue, stress, dehydration, and no food for twenty-four hours.

The crowds boo's changed into a roar of approval as Alex's feet echoed closely behind hers. Exhaustion, was wanting her to just give up. 'Just kill me now.' Nicole thought bitterly. But desperation and the will to survive overcame the suicidal thoughts.

'Okay. Okay. Just keep running. If he catches you, fight. If he chases you, run. DO NOT DIE!!' Nicole screamed in her head. She would get through this. Thinking on her feet, she created a plan. It wasn't fool proof, and there were to many variables to ensure that it would work. But with Alex less than ten feet behind her, it was all she had.

Nicole slowed down. She almost stopped completely from the relief flooding through her body. Alex's steps were easily heard as he came up behind her. She could practically feel his breath on her neck.

She dropped to the ground.

Pulling her knees to her chest, and wrapping her arms around her head to protect her self. As she hoped, Alex tripped over her body, he painfully kicked her in the rib. A loud CRACK followed, and she gasped as the breathe flew out of her. Pain dominated her torso. Every other pain she had felt, had felt like a walk in the park compared to this.

Nicole rolled on her back panting, trying to raise her chest as little as possible. Each breathe in, caused a stab of pain to ignite a whole new fiery pain throughout her chest. Alex stood up a couple feet away where he had ungracefully fell. He brushed the dirt of his pants. And lifted a hand to shade his eyes and looked at the announcer.

Somehow understanding, the announcer replied, " Four and a half more minutes." Alex looked down and smiled at her.

"Plenty of time." An evil grin dominated his otherwise handsome features.

Nicole clenched her teeth together to keep from screaming out in pain. She was almost positive he had broke her rib. She breathed heavily through her nose. Both of her hands gently pressed on the spot Alex had kicked. Despair settled in as he sauntered over and straddled her with no problem. The pain was so intense she couldn't even remember how to move her legs.

Glaring at him with all the hate left inside of her was the only way she could express her self. Pride flowed through her. With her right hand she swung and clipped him on the chin. With that slight movement, it had felt like her skin was being ripped open. A gasp escaped her now open mouth.

Alex's head had just twitched to the side from her punch. He smiled sweetly at her, and with one hand grabbed both of her wrists. Slowly lifting them above her head. It now felt like she was being torn in half. After a few seconds a tortured scream escaped her lips. It echoed through the silent crowd. And then, a roar of approval came from the crowd.

Tears escaped her eyes. And she was about to throw up.

"Three minutes left"

Alex planned to do this slow torture for three minutes.

Nicole squeezed her eyes shut. Darkness flooded her mind, as her body tried to find a way to escape the pain. She gratefully fell into the dark oblivion.
