There was fear in Nate's eyes. All his life was dedicated to running, and he was worried he would have to escape again.

Mel was in a state of panic, too. They never got to know their past, yet it came back for them anyways, in the worst possible way.

Frames of the moment flashed before their eyes. They could not focus.

Without warning, Dyna charged towards the coated man and elbowed him, taking the crowbar into her own hands in the process. The sudden move effectively tripped the officer, and caught the rest off guard.

Simon leaped up to help Dyna. Armed with a shard of glass, he bolted forward.

'Go!'

They signalled for Mel and Nate to escape.

Mel hesitated. They had to choose between themself and their friends, and they were being forced to choose the wrong option.

Nate tugged at Mel's hand with a single, urging motion, and they ran off together.

Looking back, the last thing Mel saw was Simon being slashed in the left eye.

They closed their eyes as they followed Nate, trusting him fully. They found it hard not to take in the noises around them.

Police car tires. Yelling.

A gunshot, then silence.
