Harry is like butterfly 🦋 beautiful and colourful ykwim So in my guess what would had happened is
They all are friends nd start Bonding with each other They spend alot of time together and liked each other presence The more spend time the more they get to know each other and after knowing someone we all do fall So I think they actually start liking
And harry admire zayn( u know everyone would hv done same )without his own concern he would had thought it's nothing like love or casually ignored but keep bond same
But this feeling keep growing like as there is a say " if u hide a emotion it will grew stronger" But at time Zayn wasn't aware of the fact nd never tried of understanding it
