Diluc POV
I had a feeling that my boy would get up to trouble if he was given freedom, I wish I should have kept him with me. It saddens me to think that now my son has gone and destroyed my work, he'll have to go to prison.
I wish I could've given Y/n a good life, I really do, It pained me to think that I had ostracised him from all forms of communication for all of these years. I just didn't want the same thing to happen like it did for his Mum, my wife.
Flashback- 10 years ago.
I couldn't have imagined that the winery would be this much of a success after I inherited it after my father. And now that I had my own family, my son was the next in line for the business. Currently my wife was looking after him and his friend Bennett down by the riverbank, a safe place where I can see them. Thank the Archons that my wife had a vision of her own, A Cryo one. Anyways, I needed to sort out some of the wine inventory, I believe one of the interns miscalculated the stock.
Whilst I was redirecting barrels of wine I heard a bloodcurdling scream. It was a scream that I knew. My wife was in danger and my son too! I ran down to the bank to see my wife on the floor, blood splattered everywhere, in the river and on the two young boys. I looked at the culprit, it was none other than a broken chunk of boulder that had hit her on the head.
"Boys! Go back to the Winery!" I shouted and drew my sword. I proceeded to sweep my sword across the riverbank, my phoenix of flame flew across the boulder, cracking it into small pieces. After it was over, I broke down seeing my wife's lifeless body. I closed her eyes and picked here up. Upon my arrival back to the winery, Y/n and Bennett had been split apart, Y/n went back into the house, whereas Bennett was taken away by the guards.
"I'm not letting that Unlucky fool come anywhere near my son!" I shouted, fury in my tone.
"Are you going to at least tell him what happened to his own mum?" I heard the fool say. I gave no reply.
"Y/n is not to know or see what happened to his mum. Nor is he allowed to leave his room or see Bennett." I told one of the winery workers.
"For how long is he to stay in his room." They asked.
"For as long as I say." I replied before laying the body in a hole under the grape vines. The workers then filled the hole with earth. "Rest well my love."
End of flashback.
For months on end, that day played with my mind. I ordered my maids to remove every photo of my dear wife from the house, however one remained, the one closest to my bed on my bedside table. I now regret depriving my own son from knowing what really happened to his own mother. Every time that Y/n would ask about her I had to come up with some story that she was attacked by an abyss mage. I'm worried that he'll find out about her. But for now...Finding my boy was my main priority.
Y/n POV
I didn't know where we were going, but I had to think of something. I regret signing up to Diona's silly little plan. I regret not going back to the house with dad. I regret everything!
