Friends

Friends is a weird concept when you think about it.
Basically, you pick someone and I think: "I like you" and then you just do things together (not dirty things 😏 unless you're friends with benefits which I'm totally cool with. In fact, I'm contemplating writing a chapter on said topic and related relationships)

But yeah friendship is great. I was inspired to write this chapter by the advert on the TV for Facebook right now. It's a great representation of what friendship should really be like. However, unfortunately, friendship isn't all sunshine and rainbows. It's the same with any relationship. Whether it's with your parents, boyfriend/girlfriend or even with your pets. There's always times (whether it's hours/days/weeks or even months) where you go through rough patches. It's just the way the world works.
But if you think about it...without these rough patches, it wouldn't be much of a relationship as there wouldn't be enough emotion involved to make it strong enough to last.
Sometimes I feel like I try too hard and sometimes I feel like I don't try enough but either way I seem to screw it up. I just get defensive and because I'm such a stubborn bitch most of the time, I find it hard to admit that I am wrong. I will know that I am, I will just not admit it to others.
Most of my friends completely get me but others, I just feel like we're drifting apart...
But maybe that's what's best? Maybe space is what is needed in order to help the relationship grow? Instead of suffocating it.

I'd love if there was a code to friendship as that is something I would study religiously. But I suppose that's impossible seeing as every person is different and thus, every relationship (including friendships) is different.

Again, no helpful advice included. Just experiences.
Remember there will be haters (another topic I'm considering dedicating a chapter to)
See you later,
Rx
