Vic,
I know I messed things up. Please give me a chance to make it up to you. Can I see you for your birthday this Saturday night? I know this is wrong to ask of you, considering you're a prefect - but if I met you this Saturday night in the secret passageway to Honeyduke's, would you come?
Yours,
Teddy x
Victoire stared at that word for a long while: Yours. If only that were true. She sighed, wondering whether it was safe to use that passageway what with Salvatore's recent use of it - but if they ran into him, she had no doubt Auror Teddy Lupin would be able to handle the situation. She prayed that wouldn't happen, though. Her last interaction with Teddy was awkward enough without her having to run into Salvatore while with him.
She half-feared what Teddy might have to tell her and half-longed to hear him confess any crumb of feeling he might have withheld from her. While she still harbored an intense crush on Teddy, she had to admit that Jade's words stuck with her: why now? After all this time, why should he choose now to confess his feelings, if that's what he planned on doing? Did it have anything to do with his suspicion that she'd moved on?
Then there was the matter of Salvatore Rookwood and the latest muggleborn attack. Teddy asked her to report anything suspicious she'd seen, and it was true that Salvatore was seen acting dubiously on more than one occasion. But she wasn't sure she could bring herself to tell on him to Teddy - something about that idea made her feel guilty without further evidence. So while she remained in possession of her cousin's cloak, she'd put it to good use. She'd follow Salvatore around once more and would let his actions be his sentence as to whether or not she alerted Teddy to him.

Vic eyed Salvatore curiously during dinner in the Great Hall. He rarely socialized with other students, and when he did, he looked bored and like he'd rather be anywhere else. Perhaps it was lonely at the top of his gang of other Death Eater descendants in Slytherin House. He glanced at his watch, stood up and loosened his tie around his neck and undid several buttons; revealing a glimpse of his tattoos that looked to Victoire like flames and shadows.
She had taken to carrying the invisibility cloak around her at all times this week in case an opportunity like the one presented to her now came along. Once he was at a safe distance, she stood and followed him as he slipped outside. She threw the cloak over herself, treading lightly as she tried to keep up with Salvatore's brisk pace. He was walking with determination through the grounds heading straight to the Forbidden Forest.
Victoire tripped over a branch and a yelp of surprise slipped her tongue as she fell, causing Rookwood's head to whip around behind him in search of the noise's source. She covered her hand over her mouth, hardly daring to breath as his jaw feathered and brows knitted together. He looked seriously tired and angry, but Victoire wouldn't be put off her mission this time. Something about the forest was calling to her outside of Rookwood. The desire like a primal instinct to take off her cloak and run through the trees barefoot distracted her, and she didn't see Salvatore silently casting a detection spell around him.
She wondered weather she was being influenced by some sort of magical creature's powers when she followed him further into the forest. He paused as if he were waiting for something or someone. She stepped forward as gently as possibly to get a better look at him when her invisibility cloak was yanked off of her and her hands and feet were bound together with magical bonds.
"Didn't I tell you to stay out of my business, Weasley?"
Salvatore hovered over her, watching her squirm against her bonds as he kneeled to pick her up. He grabbed her and set her upright, pressing her against a tree none too lightly.
