I stare at dad in the driver’s seat. “Dad.”

“Yes, sweetie?”

“How much more longer?”

“5 minutes, actually.”

I grin and check my phone. Veronica DMed me a picture that reads “together forever, never apart, maybe in distance, but never at heart”. My heart melted, and I replied back with heart and kiss emojis.

I put my phone down and sigh. I look out the window. Veronica and I have been best friends for a year. We met on this gaming site called ROBLOX, and now we really want to meet each other and practically live together. So here I am, riding in a car, only 5 minutes away from my best friend.

Veronica had cancer when I met her, so she’s bald. I’ve seen pictures of her, from Snapchats, Instagram DMing, and Facebook. She’s planning on getting a wig right after we meet, so we can both pick her wig out. She wants to get a wig similar to my hair, but I have frizzy black hair, and it’s horrible. She thinks it’s beautiful.

We’re planning on meeting at Starbucks. I don’t go there often, but Veronica is obsessed with their Cotton Candy Frappuccinos. I’m more of a tea person.

I stare out the window, seeing Starbucks 5 stores up ahead.

Well, this is it.

I take out my phone and take a picture of Starbucks. I DM it to Veronica with the coffee and kiss emoji. She responds back with 10 heart emojis and “I’m sitting at a table near the door”.

I text back “okay” and slip my phone into my back pocket. I wait until Dad finds a parking spot and stops the engine, then I hop out, slamming the door behind me. A little girl walks up to me. “Are you PaperTiger?”

I smile. PaperTiger is my ROBLOX username, and I’m really popular on ROBLOX for my clothing. I wouldn’t imagine meeting two ROBLOX people at the same place. “You like my clothing?”

She grins and nods. “I bought almost all your dresses.”

My eyes widen. I’m famous for my dresses, and I made about 50 different ones. Flowy gowns to short spring ones. I don’t like wearing them in real life, but they look so pretty on ROBLOX, and on other people in real life. “What’s your username?” I ask.

“Oh, flowerbae45,” she responds. “It was actually my cousin’s account.” She looked me in the eye.

I nod. “Nice name.”

She smiles. “Thanks.”

“How old are you?” I ask, trying not to sound too personal.
