Act One: Scene Three

SD: Joni falls asleep... the scene changes to people singing in a row with guitars, with a kind of "audience"... we flash forward to when Joni is in college in a singing group

group: (sings if you want to sing sing out)

SD: Joni walks offstage after the show and is stopped by a man

c: hello there!

j: hello... wait who are you? you look kindly familiar...

c: my name is chuck mitchell... i'm a junior, and i'm a music major. i wanted to catch you after your show to ask you something.

j: you're a strange man chuck. how long have you been stalking me?

c: you should watch your mouth haha, i'm trying to offer you an opportunity. if you're not aware, i'm one of the top singers in the greater saskatoon area and i see potential in you.

j: i'm not sure i'm interested... i have lots of work to be d-

c: listen gal, do you want to join me on my mission to be something even bigger than this college? i think our voices could change lives. if you walk away you will surely feel regretful.

j: okay, you get one chance. if you try to pull anything funny on me, the deal is off. when shall we start?

c: are you free tonight at 7?

j: we'll see
