Adrienne

As I make my way back to the bar from the bathroom, I keep eyes out for Jamie since she decided to ditch me.

My eyes scan over the crowd of sweaty, dancing bodies. I can't even remember the last time I went out and genuinely had fun. I've been so wrapped up in my relationship and my family that I really haven't had any me time.

At one point I thought about getting a job but Pac said no. Like literally just no, so I never brought it up again.

I feel someone staring at me, making me stop briefly and look around. That's when my eyes land on a heavyset guy in the corner of the club. He's sitting on the couch, surrounded by a couple women. I don't think I know him.

When I get back to the bar, Kaleel is talking to someone.

After a few more glances, I realize that it's Pac, he's wearing his navy blue Nike joggers and and wife beater. His gold chain and watches glisten under the club lights, making a few girls flock to him. He only gives them short glances, his real focus is on Kaleel.

Fuck.

I walk over to him resting my hand on his shoulder. "Hey, you didn't tell me you were coming here tonight." I say, making him glance up at me briefly, a stale expression on his face.

"Neither did you." He says, before pulling a cigarette from behind his ear and lighting it. "Introduce me to ya friend baby, I hear yall real close." He says, blowing smoke in my face.

Kaleel's expression shifts back and forth between me and him before he chuckles.

"Not that kind of close man. We knew each other in college." He says.

Pac doesn't respond to him, but he looks at me. I feel myself getting nervous.

"He was my math tutor for awhile." I say, trying to say anything to change Tupac's death stare to any other expression.

Kaleel scoffs, laughing a little, making me and Pac look at him.

"So yall was fuckin." Pac says bluntly, leaning forward onto his elbows. He downs the glass of Hennessey as me and Kaleel look back and forth between each other. I choose not to respond since his focus is back on Kaleel.

"To put it lightly.. we was just kids man." He shrugs, before starting to walk away from us to serve another person.

Lesane stands up abruptly, making me take a few steps back.

He reaches across the bar and grabs Kaleel by the arm of his shirt and pulls him towards him, taking his gun out of the waistband of his joggers and pointing it at his neck.

"Well ima put this lightly-" He chuckles, the cigarette still at his lips.

"Lesane-" I grab him, trying to get him to let him go.

"Move back." He looks at me with a look so cold that I let him go.

I look at Kaleel who looks scared, yet firm.

"Stay away from my girl." Pac spits at him, pushing the gun into his neck before letting him go roughly. Kaleel stumbles back slightly, giving me an irritated glance.

"I'm sorry." I mouth to him.

Tupac flicks his cigarette onto the bar before putting his gun away and grabbing me by my arm roughly and pulling me through the staring crowd of people. "Let me go." I try to jerk away from him but his grip is tight.

"I can't leave Jamie-"

"She's grown." He says, still pulling me out to his car.

"I said let me go Tupac, you're hurting me!" He let's me go and pushes me against his car.
