Chelsea’s Pov:

I stood in a garden of roses. Rose petals were all over the green grass almost covering it completely. I start to walk towards the rose trees that consist of pink and red roses. I walked straight toward this particular rose that stood out to me. It looks so beautiful and perfect in every way. I stood in front of it and lend my face down to smell the sweet scent that blossomed with it. I felt a hand wrap around my waist. I held on to those soft hands and started turning my body around. Before I could see who was standing behind me, a sound of beeping interrupted me.

“EEEK” I squealed falling off my bed

“Ow” I moaned in pain. I got myself up and switched off the alarm that interrupted my dream. Damn that thing! I was about to find out who my prince charming was too. Last night I couldn’t help but to fantasize my first time finding my mate.

Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamt of being in a romantic fairytale. There’s a place in my heart that I go when I dream that nobody can see. And there, I see love and I see someone who’s waiting for someone like me. I always hope that one day my dreams would come true and that he would appear in my arms. I wonder how long till I’m not just dreaming anymore.

If all fails, I still have my best friend Joseph. The kindest guy I know. I can always count on him for anything. I have never felt anything more than just a friendship for Joseph. People always say we make a good couple, but we both know the possibility of us being a couple is slim.

I laugh to myself all the time thinking about the assumptions that people make. It’s hard for people to take in that a guy and a girl can just be really good friends without any romance involved. Oh well, I don’t let peoples opinion effect me.

Once I was all ready I headed downstairs for some breakfast. As I was walking down, I can hear both my parents talking about something. They were almost whispering loudly which is odd because they are so loud in the morning.

“We should tell her” I hear my mom say

“Tell me what?” I asked walking in

They both went silent and there was some awkwardness I was sensing. I stood there looking at both my parents whose eyes were glued to mine.

“Um, are you guys okay?” I said breaking the silence

“Yeah we are, what makes you ask that?” my mom said

“Because you guys are staring at me like you guys have never seen me before”

“Don’t be silly dear. Come and eat”

I sat down next to my dad who was looking at me still. I reached out and grabbed a toast and spread some butter on it with some strawberry jelly. I picked it up to take in a bite and stopped when I notice both my parents staring at me now

“Okay, what’s going on?” I asked dropping my taste on the plate

“What?” my dad asked

“You and mom are being extremely weird. Is there something you two aren’t telling me?”

“No” my dad said

“That’s a lie”

“No it’s not”
