Only now the war has ended. Our country lies in ruins; black and burned, gloomy and dark. The war has ravaged our whole world, leaving nothing but fear and heartache. The horror is still fresh. What used to be the American government is no more. All around the world's new leaders have taken over the countries. Leaders, who am I kidding? They're not leaders, they're dictators, every single one of them. They are brain washing everyone into believing their lies because they use fear. Fear, that right now, is stronger than hope.

This whole thing started in Russia. Vlaad Pachnev, the leader of Russia, unveiled a ginormous secret army and started conquering the nations in Europe. Ukraine was their first target, which they overtook easily. Next was Hungary, Romania, Italy, Germany, and all the other smaller countries along the way. Lots of lives were lost. The bloodshed was sickening. The land from Germany to Italy, and Italy to Russia is now known as The Communist Powers, dictated by Vlaad Pachnev.

Pachnev is the most feared out of all the dictators. He seems to hold all the power. He controls most of what is left of the nuclear weapons, the land, everything. And it was Pachnev who started the chain reaction of dictators.

Africa was overthrown by a German name Fabian Borg. He united Africa, Saudi Arabia, and the rest of the Arabian Peninsula. He is thought to be the cruelest dictator, if that is possible. No one knows exactly what he does, but most things are unmentionable.

China claimed all the countries from Turkey to Papua New Guinea. They sent in their massive army to establish rule in each "province" of what is now known as Federal China. Federal China is run by Yang Po, the most organized of all the dictators.

The most scattered dictatorship is run by Hugo Veranza. He controls what used to be South America, England, North and Southern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Iceland, Greenland, and Japan. Hugo is thought to be the outcast of the dictators, but he has the most impressive spy network at his fingertips.

North America hits home most for me. Obviously because it is my home. Everything seemed fine at first. I almost believed the lies that were swirling and floating in my ears. The President of the United States was overthrown by rebels in the Northwest. But the President's advisers took over his position, and they lead the nation evilly. The rebels, known as The Brave, schemed to overthrow the advisers, but someone on the inside warned the advisers about the attack. The advisers were ready for The Brave when they came knocking at their door. Everyone on that Brave mission was killed; 12 selfless men and women. The North American people fell into a daze, lost hope, and followed the new leaders blindly. Soon, the advisers passed off their leadership to a young, charming, man named Darce, a military expert. He banded Mexico, the United States, and Canada into one country. He made his capitol in the former city of New York, New York. This union of countries is called The Northern Confederation of Power, nicknamed The Alliance. The former United States of America is broken up into Sectors, while former Canada and former Mexico are labeled Wild Country.

I live in Sector 38, what used to be called Colorado. Life was easy and peaceful before the takeovers. I did what normal kids did: schoolwork, sports, babysitting my siblings, and hanging out with friends and family. But everything changed so quickly and so suddenly. My mother and father were members of the rebel organization known as The Brave. They were some of the top ranking agents they had, lending their military and organizational knowledge to the organization. My mother and father were killed by the advisers during the Brave attack, as they were part of the 12 man mission team.

The Brave organization has survived throughout the years; they recruit people who they know sympathize with their cause. They make plans and carry them out with utmost secrecy. I wouldn't have known they still existed if my parents hadn't been a part of it.
