STALKED

CHAPTER FOUR

Carol's P.O.V

Walking in through the door at 11:38pm, Carol had an uneasy feeling that something was amiss, she couldn't place her finger on it. Nick had just dropped her off and they had an amazing time. I guess they needed the time apart and it really put things in perspective for them. She noticed her bedroom door was open and she walked inside to see if anything was missing but she didn't. She just assumed that she was the one that left the door open.

She must have slept for a while because she checked her phone and it was past 12 midnight, she thought she heard the sound of her door open and she turned then she saw it, the shadow of someone walking by.

"Whose there?" she called out

She could hear the person's footstep, she was starting to panic. She picked up her phone and called 911.

She didn't leave her bedroom, the shadow didn't come back. She only stood up when she saw the lights coming from the police cars.

"Mam, we didn't find anybody in the house or around the surrounding" one of the police officers said

"I saw someone's shadow" Carol said all panicky

"How sure are you?" he asked looking at her

"Could you have been dreaming?"

"I am sure, I wasn't dreaming" she responded

"Okay, we would check the surroundings again, and please check if something is missing from the house" he concluded

"Sure"

She couldn't sleep anymore as soon as the police cars left, she kept turning and turning and wondered why the person that entered her house just passed by or was it the police cars that chased the person away.

At around six in the morning, she called Shanice after looking around the house to see if anything was missing. The things she couldn't find made her more concerned as photographs of Nick and her together were missing, one of her favorite panties was also missing.

"Shanice, something is wrong"

"What happened?"

She could hear the sound of her bed creaking and then she yawning

"Girl, are you just waking up?"

"It's weekend, I asked what happened"

"Someone broke into my house and took the photos of Nick and I"

"My panties are also missing"

"Eww, that's weird" she could hear Shanice say

"Do you know who could have done this?"

"No idea girl, I am freaking out"

"Hmm, so what are you going to do?"

"I don't know what to do"

She walked into the bar wearing a white blouse and a navy blue short, she looked around for Nick who invited her for a night out , she remembered that they both met at this same very bar, she smiled because it brought back good memories.

She saw Nick was talking to some guy, the guy's back was towards carol so she couldn't see his face. Nick looked up at her, waved her over and then smiled. The guy sitting with him turned round and smiled at her, she stopped dead on her track, the smile on her face suddenly changed as soon as she saw him.
