[Camera pans around a brightly colored planet with ice rings to the Legion Flight Cruiser. The Legion of Super-Heroes are travelling to investigate a distress call to the tune of "Rubberband Man".]
Garth Ranzz: [Chair-dancing to the song] Sing it, Reep!
[Chameleon Boy is snoring with his mouth open from his seat in front of Garth. Saturn Girl lip-syncs with the song along with Garth.]
Rokk Krinn: [Yawns] Why are we doing this again?
Imra Ardeen: [Annoyed] It's a distress signal, Rokk. Someone could be dying.
Rokk Krinn: I get that, but why are we doing it?
Garth Ranzz: Cause we're nice. And maybe whoever it is will give us a little cheddar cheese [Garth rubs his thumb against his other fingers] for our help.
Imra Ardeen: [Waves her index finger at Garth.]
Garth Ranzz: [Points back at Saturn Girl] Which isn't the point... I mean... if he doesn't pony up....
Reep Daggle: We'll take his ship.
Rokk Krinn: Exactly!
Garth Ranzz: B-b-b-bingo!
[Saturn Girl looks up at Garth in concern. Garth returns her look and grimaces a "don't worry about it" expression at her.]
Tinya Wazzo: [Reading her console] We are arriving.
Garth Ranzz: All right, Legion. Don't forget, this might be dangerous, so let's put on our mean faces. [Colossal Boy rolls his eyes as Phantom Girl makes a snarl. Colossal Boy's handheld Terran-vintage video game beeps.] Grim, what the hell are you doing? [Game continues beeping] Grim.
Grim Allon: Shut up, bitch!
Garth Ranzz: Whoa!
Rokk Krinn: Language!
Saturn Girl: Hey!
Reep Daggle: Wow.
Garth Ranzz: You got some balls on you, Grim.
Rokk Krinn: I'm gonna SMASH THAT THING TO PIECES!
[Grim rolls his eyes.]
[The Flight Cruiser decelerates, and Darkseid's devastation suddenly covers the Legion's field of view, revealing the distress signal to be the one from the New Genesisian vessel at the beginning of the movie. Bodies are seen floating dead in space along with the pieces of the shredded ship.]
Tinya Wazzo: What happened?
Rokk Krinn: Looks like we're not getting paid.
[With a thump, Superman's body is plastered to the hull of the ship.]
Rokk Krinn: [Waving his hands] Wipers! Wipers! Get it off!
[Superman's eye opens; all gasp.]
[Cut to the Legion settling the still-unconscious Superman onto an examination table.]
Garth Ranzz: Is that Superman?
Reep Daggle: [Sounding awed] Can't believe it.
Garth Ranzz: [A little dented] Let's bring him in.
