Blake's POV

Blood is spurting out of my arm, and I have no choice but to use my powers.
I'd been holding off until I'd breached the last ring and found my Stella, but I had no choice when it came to losing my arm.

I grunt as I work my healing, soldiers screaming in pain around me along with demons of all types.
It was a battle of pure strength against pure cunningness, and I'd be glad to see that we were winning so far. The battle tide had t turned on us yet, and Blynthe was doing her part in using her forces to fight alongside us.

Just as long as she didn't stab me in the back later.

I catch my dads eye as he nods, looking me over to make sure everything was alright. Then, like we hadn't even made contact, he was back in the battle; tearing and slicing with his axe of light.

If Stella could see this... no, her eyes were too pure. She'd never even watched gory movies, I'd make sure she wouldn't witness the glory of battle. Ever.

I raise my hand and allow my claws to lengthen, my canines following suit. My eyes turn my familiar glowing blue, and I find myself ripping into any flying creature or mangled demons that had the misfortune of stepping into my way.

I spot the second ring, and make a run for it, my body agile and fast as ever. Blynthe meets me there, smirking as I narrow my eyes.

"My sources tell me exactly where Stella is." She purrs as I swallow thickly.

"Who the hell are your sources?" I grind my teeth.

"What? The big bad Blakey didn't think that I'd make friends while rotting in this shit hole? That sounds like a miserable existence." She mocks.

"Who are your sources?" I ask once again, enunciating every word with a step of my feet until she's within a breaths reach. My sister narrows her eyes at me, clicking her tongue as she lifts her chin in pride.

"Well, the very one who took her in the first place. Leviathan." She states, no malice to be found in her tone.

"You were in on it?!" My eyes flash, and I find myself quicker to react than my words came out. Blynthe is quicker and moves to block my blows.

"No." She grounds out as we battle for the strongest sibling to win.
"Your friend Cade was. Leviathan is a demon of many deals, and simply claimed what he'd promised. Levi isn't the one at fault." She spits as I growl in fury.

"Your tongue is full of lies."

"You wish it was, don't you?" She shoves me off as I take a moment to mull over her words.

"He wouldn't dare." My chest tightens, and even as I tower over Blynthe, I still find myself feeling smaller than ever.

"Oh but he did. And even still, she won't leave his side. Pathetic." She clicks her tongue as I snarl.

"Her heart is better than any I've ever known, don't you condescend to someone you've never even spoken to." I find myself thinking over the facts as Blynthe stays quiet, watching me. Always watching me, like a vulture.

"You really love this chick, huh? I hear she's in high school." She judges.

"I'm in high school." I retort, cracking my neck as a demon comes running at me. Hand quicker than ever, I catch it by the throat and sear fire into its Adam's apple.

"Yeah but you're... king and she's..." the distaste is strong in her tone.

"Queen. She's my queen." I say, and roll my shoulders, thinking of a thousand ways to murder Cade. Even if we'd been friends for so long, he's done something unforgivable.
"Are we going to debate your judgements all night or are we going to get my mate and get the fuck out of here? It's almost like you don't want the throne." I say solidly as she bares here teeth at me.

"Pissy, pissy." She says, throwing her hands in mock surrender.
"Fine, but you remember what I told you about the disoriented memories when you get back on earth." She points her finger at me as I nod Solemnly.

"How could you ever let me forget." I say dryly.

I bring two small blades out sheaths at my hips and begin my carnage once again, fighting for more leeway, fighting to make it to her.

And once I'd get there, god I hope she still had that light in her eyes that shone like a million stars.
I couldn't— wouldn't live with myself if it was gone by the time I got to her. If she was gone by then.

I'd get her as much pantry's stocked with Nutella as she wanted— anything for her. I just needed her to be in one piece and still fighting the fight, still have the will to live.

I picture her crazy grin in my head, the way she wrinkled her nose when Stacy has called me Blakey-poo. That undying fire she held in her... after this, I'd make her mine.
And I'd kill anyone who gets in the way of that.

         Including Cade.
