People have been asking me about my art and what tools I use. So here goes!
My art styles, as well as my writing, are heavily influenced by my favorite movies, animation and video games. Initially, this was Walt Disney. At school, kids used to get me to draw characters for them until my hand ached (not kidding). This eventually led me to pursue a career in art and animation.
I went for a bachelor's in multimedia—that included traditional art, 3D animation, motion graphics, content creation, visual effects, graphic design, screenwriting, basic sound design and more. It's basically all stages of the production pipeline of an animated work—from story conception to final product.
But I ended up in the advertising industry, and I've also been using those skills for volunteer projects for various causes. I'm a freelance artist/animator now.
Sci-fi and fantasy are big in my work. I've been learning a lot from Aaron Blaise, a Disney artist and animator with lots of amazing tuts and resources online. Since I have a penchant for the goth and quirky, Tim Burton is another influence.
My first graphic tablet was a small Wacom. Now I'm using a large Huion Kamvas Pro display tablet.
I'm still in the process of perfecting my craft, and I have big plans for Komoreby, my quirky YA sci-fi series. Who has the time to wait around for animation companies to notice? Luckily, I'm an animator. Yep, Komoreby anime shorts are in the horizon!
Thank you loads for dropping by to check out my art!
