"Flower! I'll get him flowers!" Hawks said. Rumi gave him a 'look'.
"Your genius idea is to give your florist fake boyfriend flowers?" She said, the judgement obvious in her voice. Keigo faltered.
"Okay, not flowers. He has enough flowers already. What does he like?" The hero thought aloud. Rumi rolled her eyes. "You could just ask him. Its not like he's some reachable god. Text him, ask him out to dinner or something." She said.
"That isn't special enough." Keigo insisted, "It has to be something he'll love, something that'll make him think of me as a prospective boyfriend.". The man thought it out for a minute then realized something. "He likes the sky, we both like the sky!".
"What an astute observation. I think everyone likes the sky." Rumi said, stifling a laugh.
"Stargazing!" Keigo said excitedly. "Actually that isn't half bad." Rumi said, "Go sweep your prince off his feet then, chicken little".

"So, where are we going?" Ai asked, practically vibrating with excitement. Keigo smiled mysteriously.
"You'll have to wait till we get there to find out. It is going to require some flying though. I can carry you if you want." The hero offered, trying to hide the blush that appeared on his face at that. Ai just smiled, completely oblivious to Keigo's pain.
"I'll be fine!" He chirped, his eyes forming crescents as he grinned. Hawks was sure that smile would blind him it was so bight. God damn. He was worried that Ai wouldn't like it or would ask why they were meeting up outside of the agreed upon weekly date but so far the guy seemed happy.
"Lets get going them." The hero said, coughing awkwardly. The two fluffed out their wings and took flight, the sun setting right as they took off. Ai wondered what it was they were doing. The sun was already going down, so they weren't there to watch the sun set, although that would have been beautiful. They also weren't near any people. Like none at all. If the paparazzi couldn't catch them, why were they on a fake date?
Regardless of their separate, burning questions, the pair took flight. Keigo couldn't help but notice how Ai's wings seemed to glow in the moonlight with how much light the white reflected. It felt redundant to keep calling the man an angel, but he couldn't help it.
"Down here!" Hawks called, pointing to a ledge on the edge of a hill. Ai followed closely behind him as the sun slipped behind the horizon line and the light slowly faded away. Keigo pulled a picnic blanket out of the bag he had been carrying and set it out on the ground.
Ai sat down next to the winged hero, shrinking his own wings so their appendages wouldn't bump into each other. "I um, made some snack." Keigo said awkwardly, placing the bag in front of both of them. He pulled out three tupperware containers, one with what looked like chocolate chip cookies, one with cut up vegetables and another with buns that had something stuffed in them.
"They're red bean buns. Rumi said they were your favorite." Keigo said, offering one to Ai. The man smiled widely and eagerly accepted the food. He took a bite and all but moaned.
"This is amazing." He said, unable to see Keigo's bright red face in the darkness, "You should make these when you find a real boyfriend or girlfriend, they'll fall for you on the spot.".
The hero felt his heart sink a little but he pushed past it. "I'd rather just make them for you." He said, trying to sound chill. He even took a bite of a carrot stick to make it seem like it really didn't matter.
Ai on the other hand was in full panic mode. What did that mean? Did Keigo like him? Is that why they were on a not-date alone? Was this a real date? God he hoped it was-but the university student had his train of thought stopped abruptly by Keigo, who grabbed Ai's free hand and used it to point at the sky.
"That's why I came here with you." He said, a dreamy look in his eyes. Ai followed where the hero was holding his hand and audibly gasped.
The stars were gorgeous. It was so clear and light free that everything was right there, completely visible to the naked eye. The milky way was visible for heaven's sake.
"Its beautiful." Ai mumbled, not taking his eyes off the sky. Keigo smiled from ear to ear, pleased that he had gotten the desired reaction.
Suddenly Ai groaned. "What's wrong?" Keigo asked, concerned.
"I didn't bring my camera!" Ai said sadly. Ah, right. He was a photography major. "I just learned how to take good pictures of the night sky! I'm missing my opportunity." The white haired boy said with a slight pout.
"We can come back." Keigo rushed out before he could second guess himself. Ai gave him a confused look. "I'll come here with you whenever you want. You can bring your camera the next time its this clear." He promised.
Ai smiled at him cutely. "You're really sweet Keigo. You're like a real life angel." The man said, his big blue eyes twinkling in the starlight.
"Isn't that your title?" The hero teased. Ai smiled softly.
"Being an angel isn't just looking like one." He said, "Its a pedestal that people should earn.".
Having a good moral compass was the last straw for Keigo. This was officially too far. Ai was too perfect. Period.
The rest of the night went well. Better than well. Keigo was awkward but confident and Ai was all shy smiled and soft gasps when he saw a new, interesting part of the sky.
------ ------- ------- ------- ------- -------- -------- -------
The next day all Ai could think of was Keigo. He couldn't focus on his classes, his arrangements or even what people had texted him.
He nearly double booked himself for two weddings on the same day he was so distracted.
But something about that night just stood out to him. It wasn't their normal press date. In fact he hadn't heard so much as a murmur about and he kept up with everything the media said about them.
Ai didn't know how to feel. Well, he knew how he felt, but he didn't think he had the right to feel that way. Keigo just needed help. He needed the commission off his back. He didn't need Aito clinging to him, desperate to turn an act into reality.
It would be easier if he could say that he loved the Keigo that took him out to see the stars. That made him red bean buns and promised to take him back and make cake next time.
But he was the same person that took him to the gala and all their café and dinner dates. He didn't act any different, he was just who he was.
Ai didn't think there was some hidden personality, some side to Keigo no one had seen yet. That was just who he was as a person.
But it was so confusing!
Ugh, why was love never easy?
