Darkness rising

The arrival

Jack was out in the desert with Arcee on an afternoon stroll. They decided to stop on a small hill so they could see the sunset. It took about a minute for the sun to get where they were.

"Wow, it's beautiful," Arcee said, showing nothing but contempt on her face.

Jack wasn't paying much attention to the sunset but looking at his guardian. He wouldn't say it out aloud but he had feelings for Arcee. He found it a bit odd but that didn't stop him from liking her.

"Yeah, beautiful," Jack said.

Arcee slightly glanced at Jack to see what he was looking at and when she saw it was her, he was looking at, she turned away with a smile on her face.

"I was talking about the sun Jack." Arcee said in a mocking tone.

Jack slightly blushed as he looked away. He looked back at Arcee and took a moment to think. He knew he would never have a better chance than right now to tell her about his feelings.

"Arcee." Jack called out for her.

"Yes Jack." Arcee replied.

"I...I want to tell you something."

"Okay, what do you want to tell me?" Arcee asked as she turned to look at her partner.

Arcee had feelings for Jack ever since that day when they were in the forest and Airachnid tried to kill Jack. Ever since then she had always wanted to keep Jack by her side and make sure he is safe.

"Well,...I-I just wanted to say that..." Jack began but before he could confess his feelings, a beep coming from Arcee's com-link interrupted him. Realising that it's a call to Arcee, he stayed quiet.

Arcee growled at herself then looked at Jack.

"Sorry but this might be important." She told him.

Jack nodded understanding that. Arcee then answered the call.

"What is it Ratchet." Arcee asked with a hint of anger in her voice.

"Well sorry if I interrupted you on something, but we right now need you back at base." Ratchet spoke.

Arcee grumbled in frustration but didn't have another choice.

"Okay. Send a ground bridge at my coordinates." Arcee told him.

"Sure." With that Ratchet ended the call.

"Duty calls?" Jack inquired as he crossed his arms.

"Yeah." Arcee said as she transformed into her alt form "come on Jack we need to go."

Jack got up and dusted his pants.

"Okay I guess." he said as he got on her and they waited for the ground bridge.

After a few seconds a ground bridge opened in front of them and they went inside it, reaching their base. At the Autobot base, all the bots were gathered in the main room. Miko and Raf were also there. They were standing in the human living area. The bots looked serious about something.

Jack got off Arcee as she transformed to her bipedal form and he made his way over to the human living area of the base.

"What happened, Optimus?" Arcee asked.

"We are receiving a signal from an Autobot Spaceship. But I am not too sure if it actually belongs to an Autobot or Decepticons are on that ship." Optimus told her as he was observing the computer screen.

"Well there's a slight possibility of it having Decepticons. I mean I came here on a Decepticon escape pod, so it's not impossible." Smokescreen said.
