Game changer

Silas observed the unconscious form of the raven haired teen known as Jackson Darby. It's been two days since Jack's confession. Silas had sent his men to the assumed location of the Autobot base. They did find the missile silo, but there were no Autobots in there. After some investigation it was proved that the Autobots did stay there for a while, but they had left that place. Silas assumed that the Autobots must have realised that Jack would end up giving him their location so they relocated to a safer place. Silas was deep in thought about the boy.

"You've been greatly underestimated by your peers Mr. Darby. It's time to bring out your true potential." Silas thought as an evil smile crept on his face.

(Two weeks later)

It took two weeks for him to complete all the preparations of the procedure. He looked over to the lab that had been set up for only one specific purpose.

"Project Darkstriker." Silas thought as he watched the scientists preparing everything.

In the middle of the room, on a berth, was lying Jack Darby. The boy had been through a lot. His body was week due to the intense torture and malnutrition. But he was still alive. Silas walked over to the boy. Multiple wires were attached to his body, which were hooked up with a computer to monitor his vitals. Soon the surgeons were also present in the room with their equipment and soon they began the procedure.

(Few hours later)

If it wasn't for the previous experiences of doing stuff like this, the surgeons would have thrown up by now. It's already been a few hours since they began the procedure. It started with replacing the spine of the boy with an artificial one. The process was anything but easy. They had to be really careful about removing the bones so that they didn't damage the spinal cord. Only a few of the bones were actually completely removed. Most of them were only cut in half so that the spinal cord will be exposed. Then came the tricky part, the installation of the artificial spine. It started with installing some nano chips in the whole length of Jack's spinal cord. After that was done they put together the artificial spine by attaching each piece individually on what remained of the original spine.

From an elevated platform, Silas watched all this with glee. This was all coming along just the way he had hoped.

"When you told me Jack was having special treatments, this wasn't what I was expecting." A familiar feminine voice said.

Silas looked beside him and saw Airachnid standing just beside the platform. For a giant alien robot she was extremely stealthy. And since this base was situated in an old military base with huge doors it wasn't exactly hard for her to get inside many of the buildings, such as this lab which was built inside a military building.

"Airachnid. You've come right on time to witness history." Silas told her.

"How so?" Airachnid asked with a hint of anger in her voice.

"Mr. Darby is a rare specimen, Airachnid. I have studied his body cells and he seems to be rather unique. His genetic code is much more advanced than anyone I've seen. Making him a perfect subject for Project Darkstriker, a sub project under Project Chimaera."

"What are you planning, Silas?" Airachnid sounded more curious.

"I have been studying Cybertronians for a while now. Those dead Vehicons I managed to get my hands on and the corpse of Breakdown came in handy for that. I've realised that humans and Cybertronians are rather similar in basic structure."

"What do you mean?"

"Have you ever noticed how you people are physically so similar to humans? So many similar physical features. I have studied the genetics of a Cybertronian and it was around 75% similar to that of humans. And you lot even have a sexual reproductive system." Silas spoke "Seeing all these similarities I decided why not use this knowledge to bring the next step of evolution in human beings. A creation of both worlds. A techno organic."

"And how do you plan to do that?" Airachnid asked.

"You have highly underestimated human technology Airachnid. You've got no idea what surprises we've got under our sleeves. Most of the world doesn't even have any idea that such advanced technology even exists. And I happen to have some of that tech in my disposal." Silas said with a hint of pride in his voice. He then looked at Airachnid and said,"And you brought me the key ingredient. Cybertronian nanotechnology."

Airachnid's optics widened at the revelation. She grimaced at the memory. She had just escaped from the Autobots. She knew in order to survive, she would need allies. She also knew that she can't go back to the Decepticons, since Megatron would be more than willing to crush her on sight. So she was left with only one option, the MECH. But in order to gain their alliance she would've needed something to bargain. So she went back to half of the old Decepticon ship 'Harbinger'. Not the half that was buried under ground, the half where she found the immobiliser. She found Starscream there too. The backstabbing former Decepticon seeker had lost his T-cog, which she later found out was MECH's handwork, and was relying on an ancient relic, the Apex armour.

It didn't take her long to finish him off, thanks to her stealth. After which she had retrieved what she came there for. A vial containing Cybertronian nanotechnology. It was an ancient and lost technology which is said to be created by Solus Prime herself. The nanotechnology present in the vial was the only that was left on the entire Cybertron and it was in the possession of Decepticons. Luckily it was enough for MECH to form an alliance with her.

"What do you plan to do with it? I did say you can't replicate it. Not even the best Decepticon scientists and engineers were able to replicate it." Airachnid couldn't help but ask.

"While it's not possible to replicate it, nanotech is rather easy to program. And it's going to be the key to turning Mr. Darby into a techno organic." Silas said with a grin.

Airachnid watched as the surgeons brought in a tube filled with Cybertronian nanotech and injected it to his spine. Airachnid watched in amazement as the artificial spine on his back seemed to attach and readjust itself on Jack's back, before the nanotech began to transform the skin and flesh around the spine as the wound on Jack's back seemingly closed.

"The nanotech is not only attaching tech to his body or healing his wounds, it is also improving his genetics. There's a lot of potential in him. With this, Jack will become stronger beyond imagination. He will become a force whom anyone would be thinking twice before reckoning." Silas said.

"So, my Jack is turning stronger. I can live with that." Airachnid said as a smile crept on her face as she thought of Jack as a powerful warrior.

"This is going to be a game changer." Silas said as he grinned.
