Pixie5: Caleb! It’s been so long! I missed you.

Caleb: Sorry but I’m really pretty sure that I don’t know you.

Pixie5: Aw, you’re going to keep going on with that? It hurts my feelings that I wasn’t interesting enough to be remembered. :(

Caleb: No I didn’t just forget. Maybe your friend and I have the same name.

Pixie5: I don’t think so Caleb Wenright. Your mom’s name is Janice and your dad’s is Peter but I’ve never met him. Your parents separated two years ago. You live in apartment #523 in the West Tinjo Place apartment complex.

“Damn, that’s freaky,” Marcos said from over Caleb’s shoulder. He had taken the desk chair and had rolled it behind Caleb, who was sitting in the dining chair, using Marcos’ notebook on the bed. “She knows everything about you.”

Without a word Caleb stood up and left the room.

“Where are you going?” Marcos called after him, but Caleb didn’t reply.

Caleb walked quickly down the hall toward his mother’s room. The door was open. He stood in the doorway and said, “Mom?”

She was doing something on her own computer. It looked like a spreadsheet. “Yes, Caleb?” she asked, turning toward him and taking off her glasses. She had wavy brown hair. Her cheeks and thin nose were more freckled than Caleb’s.

“Have you ever met a girl named Miranda?” Caleb asked.

“No. Why? Is she your new girlfriend?” She smiled at him.

“No!”

His mother’s face tightened with concern.

“Sorry,” he said quickly, “I didn’t mean to. I’m just trying to figure something out. But don’t worry, everything is fine.” Caleb turned away and went back to his room.

“What’s up?” Marcos said when he returned.

“Nothing. Just had to ask my mom something.” Caleb returned to his place in front of Marcos’ notebook.

Caleb: So you’ve met my mom before?

Pixie5: Of course! You introduced us yourself.

Caleb: You’re lying. I just asked her and she said she’s never met you.

Pixie5: Oh, well I’m not that surprised. You had to get your bad memory from somewhere.

Caleb: No I don’t believe you. Are you Lucidity?

This time, a few moments passed before she replied.

Pixie5: What? Where did you hear that name?

Caleb: Don’t tell me you don’t know. All of this can’t be a coincidence.

Pixie5: I’m serious. I don’t know what you’re talking about. What do you know about Lucidity?

Caleb: I don’t know anything. I found the site from your mail address.

Pixie5: My mail address? It’s with freemail.gn.

Caleb: Not in the first message you sent me. It said lucidity.gn. What’s going on? Are you messing with me? Either tell me what this is about or just leave me alone.
