We run with Kari through the forest, because I don't want him to shift and rob me of the pleasure of undressing him. When we arrive at the small cabin, I realize it's quite close to my garden. I have never really paid attention to it, there are several identical tiny houses around Eagle Rock, winter shelters from the time regular humans still lived here.
It's warm inside and there is a fire that was recently lit. A comfortable den, with pillows scattered on a silk covered bed.
"Come, Luna, let me show you what the Lycan mark is good for, besides granting you access to the pack mind."
He sits on the edge of the low mattress and I find myself suddenly in his lap, straddling him between my thighs.
The mark on my shoulder is uncovered and his fingers brush slowly over the lightning like lines, sending a shuddering wave of pleasure through the surface of my skin.
The next stroke is deeper, constricting my core with arousal and drawing a surprised moan of delight from my lips. His dark green eyes are smiling with satisfaction at the power he now has over me.
When the third touch, a circular rub that presses flesh against bone is felt, my breath stops and my mouth mindlessly searches his.
He grants me only the lightest butterfly kiss, as his nails scratch along the lines that adorn my shoulder. My hand grabs his rope-thick braid, wrapping it around my wrist and he groans with surprise at the tug that brings his face next to mine. I want him to hear me well when I tell him that I want to feel my Alpha much, much closer.
For a brief moment, he seems ready to waver, hearing me using his new title. But then he shakes his head smiling, his gaze following my eyes, which are rolling in the back of my head.
He softens his touch for a second, eliciting the most frustrated whimper from my side, but then his fingers suddenly crush skin and tissue, making me scream his name, as he had predicted, tears of relieved pleasure flooding my face.

Dawn is upon us, orange shadows flowing over bodies who refuse to let go of each other. Our minds speak, because the mouths are too tired to articulate anything.
"I think you will have to braid my hair today, Luna. I am incapacitated."
"If you rely on my help, it is unlikely you will even get a man bun. I always liked you wild anyways." I press my head in the pillow before clarifying "This would be the moment where I lovingly touch your hair, but I don't think I can raise my arms anymore."
A chuckle from his side is followed by a shockingly serious request:
"I want a baby with you."
It's not the sudden change of topic that freezes my soul.
When Kari placed his mark on my shoulder it did not hurt and I didn't bleed much. I felt it slowly taking shape, as drawn by invisible gentle fingers, branching on my skin down to my shoulder blade, like a long lightning strike that lead me straight into the pack mind. This later was a broad space where my tree grew once more, to allow a certain large silver wolf to enhance his healing core by tapping into mine.
As Kari took the control of the pack mind from Xander and became Alpha, I sensed with my own nerves and every single one of my cells my mate's genetic program that requested him to protect his pack's present - by defending them from any threats - and his pack's future - by mating and creating their next leader.
I shuddered at the power of the wolf within, who wanted the same things as my core - to support and spawn life - but who was demanding them selfishly, in the name of his pack, with a deafening, irrefutable howl. The mark on my shoulder, that had formed so peacefully just minutes before, suddenly burned hot.
My consciousness intertwined with the one of the Alpha, and I knew that, if I was to walk the Wolves Way' with him and be the mother of his heir, I needed to be much, much more powerful.
My core and my tree suddenly demanded wings and knowledge, and even if neither of them could howl, their ask was unwavering.
