I exhaled softly, ringing the doorbell on the familiar mahogany wood door of the Winston's mansion.

Kate and Perry Winston were seriously some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Kyle was somewhat of a miracle child, after trying for six years, they finally had him at 32 and 34. It's no wonder they love him so much. Mr. Winston was a retired soccer player who led his team to winning the Ballon D'or three times in a row, before retiring to focus on raising his son. Mrs. Winston was a retired tennis player who came first in most Grand Slam competitions she had competed in.

"Ryan!", Mrs. Winston said, throwing her arms around me and placing a wet kiss on my cheek.

"Good evening Mrs. Winston", I said, resisting the urge to wipe my cheek.

"Now, how many times have I told you to call me Katy?", She said, wagging her finger.

"Right...Mrs. Katy"

"Stubborn, Come on in", she said, pinching my cheek.

I walk into the house, rubbing my cheek. Trophies and pictures of all three Winston's in their various sports line the wall. There was this particularly adorable picture of all three of them at Kyle's first game. Beside it, there was a picture of Kyle and I at the said game with our arms around each other's shoulder's grinning toothily at the camera.

Ew. Affection.

"Good evening, Mr. Winston"

"Ryan, ma boy", he said ruffling the hair that I waxed and clapping a hand on my shoulder.

"Why so dressy this year? You usually just wear sweats", Mrs. Winston said.

"You know, there's no specific way I could explain what happened"

"I'M HERE", a familiarly boisterous voice said.

"Actually, I could, that's the reason", I said, turning and pointing to Caramel.

"How did you even get here? Don't tell me you rode a motorcycle with a dress on", I said.

"And? If I did? Well, if you must know buster, Kyle picked me up. Because that's what good friends do"

"Like if I'd come to pick you up, you would have entered the car without us having a meaningless argument for 45 mins and without Lan having to fling you into the car"

"Did you do your hair? Dang boy, you look good", she said, giving me a once over.

"You have the attention span of a grain of salt"

"Jokes on you. My attention span is lower than that. Oooo cute picture", She said, picking a frame off the side table.

"I didn't know Kyle had another friend"

"That's me, idiot"

She does a double-take then removes my glasses off my face wearing them.

"I guess there's some similarity"

"I don't have the energy to deal with you. Give me back my glasses", I said, taking the picture from her and placing it back.

"You don't need to see to eat. I'm keeping it"

I just sighed, opting out of talking.

"Oh my God, where are my manners?", she said, finally noticing Kyle's parents.

"Practically nonexistent", I mutter.

"Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Winston. I'm Leah Sandoval, it's a pleasure meeting you"

"Wait, the Leah Sandoval?", they both said.

"You know who I am?", she said confused.

"Not a clue", Mrs. Winston said, "call me Katy by the way"
