*Crystal POV*

1 WEEK LATER

"Wait, let me get this straight. You go to college; the hottest guy there is hitting on you. Your 'best friend' likes his friend. Then you go to a party, get locked in a room for 3 days with the player, then come out as kind of lovers? Then a rumor spreads that you slept with him, and his best friend? Then your 'best friend' left you, lied to you, got girls to trash your stuff, and then beat you up? Then you get sent to a hospital, where your lover comes to your rescue and lets you live with him and his best friend..? After that, you found out he has been starting a hate page about you, is sleeping with the girl who started your beat up in exchange for making your life suck, and your ex best friend is a bit innocent?" Roxanne asks again for reassurance. I look at her and nod again, which felt like the 6th time. I told her the story about 3 times and finally she started to get some of the main points.

Roxanne was a very nice girl. She was kind, timid, but also once you got to know her, wild and outgoing. I met her about 3 days after I arrived at the military base, where my mom was stationed. After I got on the plane to leave Florida, I remembered I met her when I was really young, probably around the age of 7. A small part of my mind wondered if she was still at the base, and I prayed that she was. Well, my prayers were answered, Roxanne was still at the base, and was luckily still herself. When I arrived at the house my mom lived in, I unpacked, and instantly went over to Roxanne's house. She answered the door, we reunited, and now here I was, on my bed in my mom's house, explaining for the 3rd time about why I left Florida.

"Well was he hot at least?!" She asked, oblivious to the fact that he hurt me.

"Well, his face was a 9.5, but his personality.... Like 3.1" I explained, trying not to remember his face that was seared in the back of my mind. I didn't want to remember him.

I wanted to start over at that college, but I didn't think it was possible. When I told my mom about the whole thing, she looked at me with a shocked expression.

"Why don't you just change your class times and dorm room? You wouldn't see any of them again. It would be like starting over." She explained, as if talking to a 6 year old.

So that's what I did. My mom helped me out, and I changed my class times, got a new dorm, and even a new cell phone.

I was officially gone from the old college life I used to live. I planned on going back after visiting days, which were in like a day. Visiting days is when a child/ adult that wish to see an individual on base, even when the child/adult isn't related to the individual.

"Uh, earth to Crystal...?" Roxanne stated unsure, waving a hand in front of my face. I shook my head from my thoughts.

"Sorry, I was thinking." I muttered under my breath.

"Obviously, so was Lily even pretty?" She asked, not even bothering to bring up what I was wondering about.
"Uh, yeah. She was alright." I said after a moment of silence.

She nodded, and I did too. I looked down and checked my new phone out of pure habit. The only people I had in my contacts were George, my mom, and Roxanne. I don't even know why I check anymore.

"Well, I'm tired. I'll see you tomorrow at visiting days." Roxanne said whilst yawning.

She then walked out of my room and down to my door. I heard a door close, and knew she was out of the house. I sighed and leaned back against the bed frame of my bed.

Tomorrow was visiting day; nothing special, really. It's just a bunch of people gathering together in the main lobby to see people they care about. A small part of my mind wondered if my dad would show up. I reassured myself that would never happen.

A small yawn escaped my lips as I slowly lowered myself to a lying down position. My eyelids fluttered a little before closing, and a small thought only occurred as I drifted off into a quiet slumber.

What was going right now at the college back in Florida?

"Wake up Crystal! C'mon, it's visiting day. Maybe grandma will visit." My mother's soothing voice stirred me from my blank dreams. My eyes slowly focused on her smiling face as she looked down at me. I began to shift into a somewhat sitting position.

"Breakfast is ready in the kitchen. I'll see you in the lobby." She stated, patting my head, and walking out of my room.

My head whirred with thoughts as I weakly got up from my comfortable bed and walked to the kitchen. I pulled a chair out from the table barely, and sat down, looking at the fruit and a pancake on my plate.

"I'm not fat." I mumbled, as I pick at the food.

After I finished eating, I walked to my room and picked out a simple outfit. It was short-shorts with a tee that said," Homies before herpes." I brushed my hair and put on a few swipes of mascara.

Good enough.

I think to myself as I slip on some black converses and walk out the door. I make my way down to the lobby and open the door. Inside was a mob of people, the room full of chatter. My eye barely twitches in irritation as I look for my mom. I finally see the auburn hair of hers, and walk over beside her.

She takes a good look at me, and then frowns.

"Crystal, couldn't you have picked out a more appropriate shirt?" She asks, scolding me.

I shrug, not really caring. "I was lazy."

My mother rolls her eyes and begins to make small talk with a lady standing by us. I walk over to a bench nearby, and plop down onto it.

"This is so boring." I mumble.

"I know right." A familiar voice says next to me. I don't even have to look to know who it is.

"Hey Roxanne." I greet, looking at her. She gives me a fake smile.

"Hi." She says subtly. I smirk.

"Anyone here you know?" She asks me. I shake my head.

"Me neither." She says in a dull tone. I laugh.

I then look around at the crowd that was slowly beginning to grow. There had to be at least 200 people in here, which was a bit too claustrophobic for me.

"Hey, hottie alert over there." Roxanne says, pointing to someone in the crowd.

I look over out of curiosity. The guy turns and makes eye contact with Roxanne, then with me.

The smile that once was on his face was gone. The peace that once was in my mind was gone too.

"Oh. My. God. No." I hiss, my eyes widening.

"What...?" Roxanne asks, completely oblivious.

The guy practically runs toward the bench as my name forms on his lips. I get up to run away, but he grabs my arm before I can do so.

"Crystal..." He says in a rushed tone, which is super urgent.

I turn to look at the familiar eyes that I trusted.

"Hi Ryan..." I squeak.
