The island was hustling as if their lives depended on getting to the Uglithug lands. No disturbances could possibly get in their way. Alvin was leaning against the doorway of his home, watching someone grab his bag for him and set it on the ship.
Alvin grinned at the thought that if he wasn't the heir no one would ever do that for him.
His mother came from behind, looking at him expectantly for him to go ahead and get on the boat. Picking up her hints, Alvin quickly made his way over to the ship, mumbling under his breath the entire way.---
"Father, why are we inviting the dreaded outcasts to our territory?" An Uglithug boy, who happened to be the heir of the tribe questioned his father for the third time.
The man in question sighed and finally answered his son. "Because I need to figure out once and for all who the king of the Wilderwest will be. Word has spread across that there's a child from the Hooligan tribe who is from direct descent. I need to know who he is so I can be rid of him." He replied.
"But I thought we were direct descendants?" The boy, Ug, asked in confusion. In response, the man stopped answering his teenager's questions once and for all.

The trip seemed like it lasted forever to Alvin, who was bored out of his mind. Voyages were always slow and unexciting. Sometimes he just wished they didn't have to last so long. A sudden cry of 'Land Ho!' jolted him away from his daydreaming and back into the real world. Bumping against the sandy territory of the Uglithug, everyone began unloading the ship, except for Alvin who was too lazy to do so.
"Nice to see you." The Chief of the Uglithugs grinned at the Outcasts after everyone was settled. "I welcome you all onto my lands to settle some business about the king of the Wilderwest." He explained. "Please make yourselves at home." The outcasts gladly did as they were told and began to relax after their long journey.
Seeing his mother go into a private tent with the chief, Alvin became curious and followed them silently, hiding behind a barrel outside the tent. Soon enough he heard them start talking.
"I presume that my son, Ug, will become the true king of the Wilderwest, correct?" Excellinor stayed quiet for a few moments while pouring them both a drink.
"Not quite." She responded bluntly.
"What do you mean?..."
"I mean that the Uglithugs are not directly descended from Grimbeard the Ghastly, the last king, and therefore can not be in line for the throne. The Hooligans and Outcasts, however, are a different story."
"You can see the future." Ug hissed. "So tell me, who will be the King of the Wilderwest if not my son?"
"Correction, I can see numerous outcomes of the future. Right now, there are only two possible heirs for the throne, none of which have anything to do with you."
The Uglithug chief was furious about this and banged his fist on his desk in frustration. "Well who are they then??" He yelled in frustration at the soothsayer.
"The Hooligan Heir of the name Stoick, and my own son, Alvin the Treacherous are the only known heirs."
"There must be some accident!"
"There are no accidents." The Witch grinned in triumph.
"Then I guess I'll just have to take fate into my own hands then." The chief stated with an evil glint of murder in his eyes. Excellinor knew what was coming. He was going to eliminate the competition, including Alvin. She knew that if he killed Alvin, she'd never have a chance to get to the throne and that couldn't happen. She had planned for this, however.
The chief had taken a sip of the drink she gave both of them earlier. His drink had traces of the poison she had packed on the trip. Alvin wasn't dying on her watch.
Excellinor simply ignored him and strolled out like nothing ever happened. The chief suddenly felt a sickness in his stomach that felt an awful like he had eaten something that wasn't so good for him. Ug heard his father's sick groaning and quickly rushed in to see what was wrong. He walked in to see his father tell the guards to capture the witch, no matter what it took.
The guards began to rush out by the dozens, forcing Excellinor to follow them to her new prison cell.
Alvin felt a rush of anxiety run over him, but he felt utterly useless and unable to do anything. But deep down there was a small part of him that screamed 'I'm finally free'. He didn't like it at first but his brain quickly became accustomed to it. By listening to the guard's conversation, it became evident that his mother had poisoned the Chief and was now in custody. The thought that he'd be next, quickly crossed his mind. And he ran for his life.
Quickly spotting him, the soldiers went after the teen. Terrible thoughts of being completely alone crossed Alvin's mind but he decided it would be his best bet on surviving. Unbeknownst to Alvin, the rest of the outcasts were allowed to immediately leave and go back to their own island. He knew that the soldiers would grab him if he stopped running, just so they could kill one of the heirs to the crown. Even though Alvin would give that birthright up in a heartbeat, he knew they probably wouldn't accept that.
A sudden cliff off the landscape, forced Alvin to stop before he plummeted into the ocean. Becoming closer, the soldiers snickered once seeing the boy completely cornered and helpless.
Not that far away, a purple Nadder grinned as she finally found her supper. She spread her wings and quickly grabbed the boy with her greedy talons before any of the soldiers could lay a hand on him.
---
The Uglithugs had taken Excellinor to Berserk, where she was locked away into the darkness of a living tree prison. There, she was slowly coming up with the perfect revenge. Everything would turn out the way she had planned... As long as Alvin didn't mess anything up.
