"WHO THE HELL ATTACKS PEOPLE WITH A BOMB THAT HAS A CAT DRAWING ON IT?"
"isn't it cute?" the girl smiled, her eyes sparkling.
"gangs aren't supposed to be cute so take that shit somewhere else"
the door was slammed in her face, leaving her no time to react. she sighed and put the device back in her bag, starting to walk away from the abandoned building. it had became the supposedly secret hangout for a random tokyo gang, though everyone knew about it and stayed as far away as possible. the rumor of a violent and dangerous group of men meeting there wasn't enough to stop her from trying, though.
"assholes" she muttered.
if there was one thing the teenager couldn't stand, it was when someone criticized or doubted of her creations which she was very proud of. did they know how hard it actually was to make homemade bombs? and how did a simple drawing of an animal made it lose its power and utility? boys were so sensitive.
she had been searching for people in need of her abilities for weeks now, but they all seemed to be either sexist or scared of a cat drawn with a fluorescent marker.
kicking a small rock on the ground, she put her hands in her pockets, frowning slightly.
i only wanted to help. but once again, it isn't appreciated. i mean, who would want the help of a 'weak fifteen year old girl', right?
her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of her phone's ringtone. though she really liked the song playing, 'insert fav song', she reached for it and picked it up. she didn't even need to see the name on the screen to know it was her cousin, him being the only person to ever call her.
"Y/N WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?"
she grinned, finding his panicked tone funny. she could easily picture the face he was making right now.
"i don't know, where are you?" she insisted on the last word.
"WHY DO YOU ALWAYS DISAPPEAR LIKE THAT?" he completely ignored her question, yelling again.
"i had something to do"
"WELL HURRY UP AND COME HOME! WE'RE HAVING PEYOUNG YAKISOBA AND YOU'RE NOT HERE"
"okay, fine. i'll be here soon" y/n ignored his angry mumbling of words she couldn't quite catch, hanging up.
despite the girl living with him and his mother at their apartment for a while now, baji just didn't seem to get used to her absences. she could be gone for a few hours like a few days sometimes and even if she always came back, he couldn't help but worry. the state she was in sometimes made it even harder for him to not completely lose his shit. he really did care about her as if she was his own sister.
she probably wouldn't admit it but this phone call alone made her feel better. it was nice knowing there was someone at home waiting for her. she couldn't promise she wouldn't run away again, though.
walking a little faster, y/n started singing under her breath, this time deciding to head towards the apartment building.
as soon as she got there, she threw her shoes and bag on the floor. she mentally cursed when she thought about the possibility of one of the bombs going off because of the loud impact. whoops. thankfully, nothing happened.
a dark haired boy leaned against the living room's doorframe, crossing his arm as he watched her every move. he didn't look happy at all.
"HOW MANY TIMES DID I TELL YOU TO STOP DOING THAT? DO YOU REMEMBER THAT TIME YOU MADE THE COUCH EXPLODE? THAT SHIT'S EXPENSIVE"
the girl smiled awkwardly "accidents happen"
he clicked his tongue and turned away. he could never stay mad at her even if he tried to.
"dinner's gonna get cold"
happily following him to the kitchen table, her eyes lit up when she noticed the blond boy sitting there. he was concentrated on eating the delicious ramen before him, not bothering to spare her a glance.
"chikafuji!" she exclaimed, throwing herself at the poor boy who dropped his chopsticks.
"not even close" he replied, sighing.
he didn't try to get out of her grip, used to her random shows of affection, even if it always caught him by surprise.
"it's chifuyu, get it right dumbass" baji hit the back of her head.
"riiiight" she finally let her cousin's friend go, sitting next to him.
laying her head on the table, she stared at his face intensely. chifuyu noticed her gaze but chose to ignore it. they had known each other for a few months now, and he still couldn't understand half of the things she did or said. he weirdly found it easy to get attached to her no matter what.
"so what are you boys up to? you look angry" y/n laughed, closing her eyes for a few seconds. she was getting sleepy.
she opened them back up when a burning cup of noodles made contact with her hand. thanking baji, she sat correctly and clapped her hands together out of excitement.
"some idiot's running fights between weaklings on our name"
"it's ruining toman's reputation"
y/n immediately jumped from her seat at the mention of the gang, the hot meal threathening to spill everywhere. they slightly flinched at the sudden reaction.
that's right! baji and chifuyu were both a part of a growing gang of middle schoolers called tokyo manji. they even were important members. how could she forget?
"that's perfect!"
both boys exchanged a quick glance, visibly worried about what she was going to say next.
"i'm gonna take care of this for you♡"
baji opened his mouth but before he could reply she was already running to her room, chanting about how she was ready to 'beat their asses with her best weapons'. where did all of this energy come from?
her cousin just facepalmed while chifuyu patted his back as a sign of support.
"WE DON'T NEED YOUR HELP AND YOU DEFINITELY DON'T NEED TO SETTLE THIS WITH BOMBS!"
