Roxy: Showtime!!

Roxy is absolutely my fave character from Security Breach, so let's start this fic out with a chapter just for her! Warning - she is a very unreliable narrator, and what she says isn't always honest. I'm still trying to find her voice, so her portrayal in this chapter isn't necessarily going to be how I'll portray her in future chapters.

This chapter alludes to future Chica x Roxy, but doesn't have any explicit romantic content between them.

Roxy craves attention.

If Freddy Fazbear is the leader, and Glamrock Chica is the weirdo, and Montgomery Gator is the jock, Roxanne Wolf is the popular girl. The diva. The little girls love her, since she isn't as twitchy or weird as Chica, and even the boys find her fascinating. She's a wolf, deadly and smart and beautiful. 

But she knows that she has to try to be the perfect one. Freddy is just naturally charismatic, and Monty has the sort of testosterone that little boys flock to. Roxy has to work, since without the time she spends preparing and rehearsing she's not any better than them.

That's why Roxy is so careful, so playful with the little ones and so skilled on her keytar. She has to keep her abilities and body ahead of the game in order to be the best. Because even if Chica is curvier and more seductive than Roxy is, Roxy's smart. She knows how to win, and that's why she's better than Chica.

Quite frankly, Roxy can't stand Chica. The chicken's a glutton, and a disgusting one at that with the whole trash thing. And even so, Chica's the favorite in the band! It doesn't make sense. Roxy's the better musician, is more friendly with the children, but the manager likes Chica best so she gets more showtime than Roxy.

Roxy doesn't say anything about it to Chica's face, but she does her best to make her life miserable. Cutting the cords to Chica's guitar before they perform, closing the doors on her face, being just a little louder so the crowd hears Roxy over Chica...Roxy's the star, and she has to make sure that Chica knows it!

"Nice job," she says to Chica after one of their performances on the elevator ride down. "You really did a good job catching up after you missed that chord, sweetheart!" It's an insult and everyone knows it - Monty chuckles, Freddy shifts uncomfortably, and Chica narrows her eyes. But they can't retaliate, since she disguised the insult as a compliment. 

It's too bad Chica's mistake hadn't been a big one, or Roxy could get some more mileage out of it. Still, she's going to milk this for all it's worth; Chica making a mistake is uncommon enough that Roxy has to take advantage of it.

"You all did an amazing job," says Freddy placatingly. It's annoying, and Roxy rolls her eyes at him. Freddy's such a pacifist. A little bit of conflict never hurt anyone! "Really, good job tonight. We'll do even better tomorrow!"

They don't do better tomorrow. Roxy's sensors feel something like pain as her head explodes with new programming and objectives, and Freddy collapses on stage. 

A new objective flashes in front of her eyes. Find the child. 

Roxy opens her mouth in a mockery of a smile. Find the child. 

She can do this. She's the best.

Find the child.
