{Jack POV}

Tooth, deflated, sits on the ground with an empty tooth box in her hands. Baby Tooth, resting on a nearby broken tooth box, looks to Tooth with concern. I then walk up and crouch down alongside Tooth, with North and Bunny talking in the background.

"I'm sorry, about the fairies." I sympathise, knowing that she loved all of her fairies

"You should've seen them. They put up such a fight." She responded, not being her bubbly self.

"Why would Pitch take the teeth?" I asked the burning question that had been on my mind since we got here.

"It's not the teeth he wanted. It's the memories inside them." Tooth explained, which in all honesty made me more confused.

"What do you mean?" I asked, still confused.

"That's why we collect the teeth, Jack. They hold the most important memories of childhood." Her purple eyes looked at me, before getting up and leading me across the pond, the water freezing under my feet as I walk.

Tooth then directs me to a mural.

"My fairies and I watch over them,  and when someone needs to remember what's important, we help them." Oh, so that's what the mural shows. I take a second to admire the immense beauty of the mural in front of me.

"We had everyone's here. Yours too." She explained.

Wait what?

"M-My memories?" I say, confused. Again.

"From when you were young. Before you became Jack Frost." She holds my shoulder.

Huh?

"But, I wasn't anyone before I was Jack Frost." I tell her, clearly confused.

All I know, and all I remember, is that I woke up and the moon told me I was Jack Frost. That's it.

"Of course you were. We were all someone before we were chosen." The fairy tells me.

"What?" I say out loud, soaking in what Tooth just told me.

"That night at the pond...I just, why, I assumed...a-are you saying-are you saying I had a life before that? With-with a home?! And a family?!" I shout.

I had a family, I had someone, I had a life before Jack Frost...

"You really don't remember?" Tooth wonders.

I really don't.

I can feel my heart beat get quicker, as I realise that all of my answers were right here. I can finally know why I'm here.

"All these years, and the answers were right here. If I find my memories, then I'll know why I'm here. You have to show me!" I use my control of the wind, so it lifts me up off the ground and I fly across the pond.

Finally, the key to my answers.

"I...I can't, Jack. Pitch has them." Tooth says.

Well, there's only one solution then.

I crouch down onto a rock, overlooking the Guardians.

"Then we have to get them back!" I smile, but before Tooth could say anything, a patch of her  feathers fall out, and disappears. Oh no...

"Oh no!" Tooth exclaims, as we all turn to the ancient mural, we all see it disintegrating.

"The children. We're too late." Ohhh, so this whole place is built on children's belief!

"No! No! No such thing as too late!" North shouts, waving his swords around.

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Idea!! HAHH!!" Well, he's cheerful. Bunny leans away from North, as his sword touches the tip of Bunny's nose.

"We will collect the teeth!" North exclaims, pointing to all of us with his sword.

"What!" Tooth shouts, clearly thinking this isn't possible.

"We get teeth! Children keep believing in you!" North explains his plan further.

"We're talking seven continents, and millions
of kids!" Tooth rushes.

"Give me break! You know how many toys I deliver in one night?" North tells the fairy.

He has a good point.

"And eggs I hide in one day?" Bunny pipes in.

Literally no one asked for his opinion.

"And, Jack, if you help us, we will get you your memories." North tells me, as everyone else looks at me.

I look towards Tooth, who gives me a reassuring smile. Sandy gives two enthusiastic thumbs up while Bunny groans. I then look back to North with a smile.

"I'm in." I say, with confidence.

"We'll I'm not." I voice comes from behind us all. It's Adora.

She gracefully flies down, and lands next to Bunny.

"I'm not in." She repeats.

Wait what?

"What? Why?" Bunny asks, as everyone looks at her with confused and sad eyes.

"Because I need to step my game up. I've noticed before that the families I've been putting together have been falling apart. And I've done nothing to stop it." She explains.

"Why didn't you do anything then? People need you, and you leave them?" North questions.

"Because-"

"When people needed you most, you left them Adora! No, no. That's not the Addie I remember." Bunny tells the girl, disappointed.

No, there's something else. I know Adora, there's something seriously wrong.

"No, just listen-"

"Is what Pitch said true?" Tooth questions the girl.

"Well, if you would actually shut up and listen-"

"No of course it isn't true, the Adora I know would ask for help if that was happening. She's just being a coward." Bunny says, glaring at my friend.

"Well, maybe you don't know me."

I can see that really upset her, she turns around and walks away.

I fly down next to her, and try and see if she would look at me.

"Go away, Jack." She tells me, sharply.

"Not until you tell us what's wrong. Why aren't you helping us?" I ask her, as she turns around, and faces the Guardians.

"Pitch was right. His power is growing, and I wouldn't normally care if a family has a fight because my arrows were strong enough to-"

"Were?" North mutters.

"Yes, they were strong enough. But as Pitch's power grows, I get weaker. So do my arrows. So, no. I'm not joining you." She explains.

"So, Pitch is making your arrows not work like they used to?" I ask her, as her purple eyes look deeply into mine.

I never noticed how she has pink specks of colour in her eyes, they're beautiful.

"Yes, and it's children's belief. If anymore children stop believing in me, then I'm nothing." She says.

"So, I'm not joining you. I have to try and see if I can help these families, or couples." She says, her back turned towards us.

"Adora, you should have said sooner, we can-"

"No, I-I don't need your help, you have to help Tooth and get Jack's memories." She said.

She's so stubborn, she always has been.

"I'll see you soon, hopefully." She jokes, and opens her wings and flies away.
