Midnight stroll

It was late, and frankly Izuku had nothing to do at this time outside without authorization especially with the league of villains having an apparent grudge against him, but here he was in all his broccoli haired glory strolling through the streets of Musutafu in one of his signature weird T-shirts. He wasn't exactly sure were he was, he had stealthed his way out of the dorms to calm his nerves about an English test he was 100% going to fail, and had been absentmindedly walking in any and all directions since then.

After a solid hour of non stop walking he found an old park that had apparently not been used for months judging by the rust setting in the nooks and crannys of the swings and slide. He sat down in one of the wooden benches and started fiddling with a small patch off moss that was growing on the wooden planks of the bench. Present Mic's tests were never the easiest for him, he was smart but he really had trouble with pronunciation and such as in his middle school years his teachers had never cared to teach him so he just crammed as much knowledge as he could in his brain but unfortunately no matter how well he knew how to wright out the worlds, that didn't make him able to say them understandably.

He didn't know how long he sat their painful mulling over all the studying he had done over the past week in his mind. Trying to remember how his teacher had pronounced certain words like "goal" and one he found impossible hard "aspiring". Part of the test he knew he had in the bag;the written portion. He had photographic memory so he had just had to read over his books every day to remember the spelling of the words he needed to know but he knew he was still going to fail. The second half of the test was an oral presentation on why he wanted to become a hero and who he wanted to be in the public's eye. A truly fascinating topic if you asked him unfortunately since it was an English test the whole speaker had to be done in English. Present Mic didn't expect them to go too in depth but what Izuku knew could never get him a passing grade. He was truly and utterly screwed.

Unbeknownst to him as he sat their hand digging in moss, lost deep in though, a tall figure was walking towards him slowly closing in on the muttering boy. In fact Izuku was so spaciously unaware that the lurking figure had been able to sit barely a meter away for him on the very same bench without him noticing anything.

Unfortunately when he did it was not exactly pretty.

The winter air was cold, blowing strong gusts of wind that still carried a few droplets of water from the rain that had poured barely a couple hours prior. Said wind blew into the faces of both the zoned out Izuku and his unnoticed companion causing the latter to sneeze alerting Izuku of his presence.

Izuku snapped his head towards the sound having been snapped out of his train of thought and finally noticing the ominous finger sitting too close for comfort to him. He slowly took in the appearance of the unbothered man, because yes indeed it was a man he could tell from his slim figure that still aloud him to see the faint trace of toned mussels that were hiding underneath. The man was wearing a plain black hoodie that covered his mop of black hair that was poking out of the hood at any and all angles. The hoody was pared with a pair of again plain black cargo pants with uncountable pockets who's content was...questionable. All in all this man screamed suspicious, with his board eyes and dark purple mask- Wait that wasn't a mask! Izuku could will perfectly see his mouth so what in the- . He squinted his eyes in order to try see better what was going on on the man's face. Before he could get to a conclusion the suspicious man turned his head to face him and spoke "what are you doing here" he said in a deep raspy voice Izuku could recognize among millions. "Dabi" he breathed, the name barely audible over the wind "took you long enough" the villain rolled his eyes in exasperation "you didn't answer my question though" Dabi continued ignoring Izuku's stiffness.

Izuku was frozen in place a hundred and one thoughts rushing in jumbling in his mind all at once preventing him from forming a coherent thought. There was a villain in front of him. A villain! And not just any villain, no, Dabi form the god damn league of villains. Dabi who could burn him to a crisp if he wished to do so yet the man was just sitting there asking him a question like they were old friends wanting to catch up. What the hell! "Why aren't you attacking me!" Yelled Izuku snapping himself out of his trance boy realizing that he had spoken till the words had already left his tongue.

Dabi chuckled at the younger boys reaction, it was expected but funny non the less "not in the mood" he answered simply looking into the night sky like he was examining every tiny aspect of it. He turned his head back to the aspirin hero "still didn't answer my question though" he said raising an eyebrow expectantly. Izuku sighed relieved, he knew Dabi wasn't going to attack him. He prided himself on being able to read people quiet well and Dabi was not a threat at that very moment. On top of that, he understood (unlike many) that Dabi was human before he was a villain and that just like him sometimes life wasn't just about war and fighting but it could be...well just this;calm and peaceful even if two people on opposite sides of society were currently sharing a bench. "I just took a walk to clear my mind about a test and got lost in thought I guess" he answered truthfully " really? What subject?" Questioned Dabi half surprised to have actually gotten an answer "English, I've been stressing out cause i suck at it" he admitted "huh" Dabi huffed leaning his head back "that's surprising i took you more for a nerd that would be good at this kind of stuff." Izuku held himself back from retaliating on that comment, he was still talking to a mass murderer here. "I'm good at the written part but i was never taught proper pronunciation" Izuku said instead, "ahh" Dabi exclaimed in understanding finally getting the full picture. "So there's an oral presentation you're gonna fuck up" he said more like a statement than a question. Izuku buried his head in his hands and let out an exasperated sigh as an answer.

Dabi knew the feeling all too well, the pressure of doing well that would crush you to bits and the hopeless feeling one would get when they have no way out, no way to find the looking for. Yeah, empathy was not something Dabi had heaps of but this, this he could understand, so reluctantly he asked "what's the presentation about?" Izuku raised his head from his hands at the question "u-um, I'm supposed to talk about why i want to be a hero" he said cringing at the fact he was talking about that to a villain. "Oh?" Dabi said straightening his body clearly interested " what do you got so far?" He asked. Izuku's eyes widened at the realization of what Dabi wanted to do but he responds either way "j-just t-this" he stuttered out pulling a crumpled piece of paper out of one of his pants pockets. Dabi shuffled closer to the hero in training and grabbed the paper that was handed to him scanning it over with his eyes. "You can read that?" Izuku asked a little shocked "I wasn't born a villain you know I went to fucking school" responded the villain as he finished reading the paper. "What you got here is pretty solid but let me guess...you can't say anything of it?" He said raising an eyebrow. Izuku ducked his head back to where it was here seconds ago hidden in his hands as he nodded, embarrassed. Dabi huffed in annoyance "ok come here" he said gesturing for Izuku to comment closer to him.
