CONTEXT - dealing with the aftermath of the snap (lost in marvel au)

"i can't be here anymore."
"what do you mean? you were the one so adamant on keeping us together as a team. why leave now?" he's still holding so much rage. i can feel it radiating off of him, hidden behind the stoic soldier exterior.
"i tried my best, i did everything i could think of to stop it happening and we still lost. everywhere i look here is just a reminder of everything that i've lost."
i glance around the common room, the silence is deafening. i can't bear it anymore.
i failed them and i can't continue to burden them or have them keep looking at me expecting to know what to do next. my knowledge has run its course and i'm now as useless as i was in my universe.
"i might be stuck in this universe but i'm not stuck in this compound. if i find a solution then i'll come back but until then this is goodbye." i nod at steve, grateful for all he has done for me.
"i'm sorry i couldn't save them."
i guess this is where my road with the avengers ends.
