Platinumcoat and Goldmoon stood at the edge of the forest of curiosities. Just three days ago, Gold had found Platinumcoat in its thorny depths and now they were best friends - Brothers, almost. Platinumcoat had since moved into the treehouse with Gold.

They walked on in. It was far more beautiful than it had been the last time. No brambles, no spear-like rocks, no dangerous ledges. Just a fresh, green grass and a plethora of flowers. Light often broke through the leafy canopy, creating columns of glowing yellow. It was truly heavenly.

"Ah. So serene. It's a pity it isn't always like this." Spoke Platinumcoat.

They continued to walk, taking many stops to observe the flowering bushes and the various fauna that flew around.

There was a snap followed by an "ow."

"Huh. Is someone here? Are you ok?" Gold asked.

Gold and Platinumcoat peeked over a bush. Sat on the other side was a little snake-like creature with two legs and... Wings?

"A mechwing. How interesting." Platinumcoat commented.

"Are you ok? We heard you say 'ow'. Are you hurt?" Gold asked again.

"Aaaaaahhh! Don't eat me, please!" The mechwing screeched. It's eyes were covered by its keratin wings and it was shaking violently.

It took its wings away from its face. The two canines hadn't eaten it. They didn't look like they wanted to eat it either. It stopped shaking and just stood. It backed away... Slowly.

"No, wait!" Gold said in an attempt to get the creature to stay.

It turned around and flew for its life.

"Interesting. I'd say that went well." Platinumcoat commented.

Gold chased after it at full speed.

"Gold, why are we chasing a mechwing?"

"I don't know. Something just feels... Off."

Platinumcoat let out a sigh and pursued. After an exhausting 15 minutes of running, they had stopped. The mechwing was perched on a log beside another mechwing. The one they had been chasing was teal, cyan and green but this one was pink and purple.

"Oh. There's two of them." Gold noted.

"And one has a broken wing." Added Platinumcoat.

"We can help them, right?"

"Of course. I'll get something to patch up that wing." Platinumcoat left, leaving Gold to watch both of the mechwings. The one that lead them here stared intensely at him. The other one was laying down and curled up with its broken wing stuck out.

"So... Uh... What happened here?" Gold asked. The mechwing didn't reply. It just hissed quietly. "Not very talkative. Ok. Well, my name is Goldmoon. Not sure why that matters to you but-"

"Lillikain." The mechwing spoke.

"What?"

"My name... It's Lillikain."

"Oh. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you Lillikain. Who's that?" Gold asked the mechwing.

"You tell me who that other wolf was and then I'll tell you."

"Deal. That other wolf is Platinumcoat. He's been a friend of mine since I met him."

"When did you meet him?" Lillikain questioned.

"Three days ago."

"Oh. You make friends really easily, don't you?"

"Yep."

"Ok. Well, since you wanted to know, this is Lilac. My friend."

"I'm back and I brought help!" Platinumcoat shouted as he ran towards Goldmoon and the mechwings. Rosewolf was following him.

"Great. Rosewolf. Could you use your healing magic thing on this pink mechwing?" Asked Gold.

"Yes, of course I... Lilac?" Rosewolf teared up. "I... I thought you were gone. How'd you get away?"
Lilac opened her turquoise eyes. She looked up at Rosewolf. "Y-you shouldn't have come."

"What?"

There was a chuckle. All three of the wolves looked up. Three burning orange eyes; the blood red fur; the chipped skull. "Well well well, look what the mechwing dragged in." The creature remarked before giving of another maniacal laugh.

"It's a demon!" Platinumcoat yelled with fear in his voice.

"Hellbound." Rosewolf spoke.

"Ah. One of Queen Tranquility's pets. Don't mind me. I'll just be taking lunch." The demon dug one of its sharp claws on Lilac's tail. It dragged the mechwing towards its head. "Now, would I prefer to gobble you up now while your blood is fresh? Or eat you once you're burnt to a perfect crisp?"

A thorny vine wrapped around the demon's wolf-like paw. "Let Lilac go, Bound." Rosewolf said sternly. Hellbound dropped the mechwing.

"Very well. If I can't have a mechwing for lunch, perhaps I'll have wolf instead!" Hellbound lunged at Rosewolf, pinning her down. He opened his jaws and was about to close them around her neck when both Gold and Platinumcoat pounced at the red demon. Hellbound got back up and growled. He was about to swipe at the wolves when another thorny vine wrapped around his paw. It wrapped tighter and tighter until blood began to trickle. The demon's paw set alight with an orange flame, burning the vine. He stared at the three wolves as he backed away. "This isn't over." He growled before disappearing before their very eyes.

"Yikes. So that's a demon." Gold remarked. "Nice thorns by the way, Rosewolf."

"Aw. Thanks Gold."

"Yeah. That was awesome. Anyway, let's get Lilac here healed up." Platinumcoat suggested.

"I agree." Rosewolf replied. Her paw glowed green. The wing began to grow and the hole that Hellbound left in the tail stitched itself up. "Now, you leave that to heal properly or the magic will just come undone."

Lilac gave a nod before standing up and flying around Rosewolf.

"Let's get back home before that thing comes back." Platinumcoat said.

"Yeah. Let's go." Gold responded.

The wolves ran back toward the clearing and the mechwings pursued. When they reached the treehouse, Goldmoon and Platinumcoat said their goodbyes to Rosewolf and Lilac. Lillikain flew up into the treehouse as Gold and Platinumcoat climbed up the ladder. They opened the door entered. Gold walked straight into his bedroom, tired from the day's events. Lillikain glided into the room.

"So, what do I do?" The mechwing asked.

"I haven't the slightest idea" Platinumcoat gave as a response.

"You can sleep on the book shelf outside until we get a perch or something for you." Goldmoon suggested.

"Eh. Sure." With that, Lillikain flew out of the room.

Gold curled up, let off a huge yawn and then closed his eyes.
