With his shaky breath, Austin tried to walk off his exhaustion as he approached Todd. Todd looked just as tired as him. Gotta get on his good side now, we already fucked up enough times, Austin thought as he began to conjure up his next sentence.
"Oh, why hello there Austin! I wasn't expecting any new work to be delivered at this hour. So anyway, what seems to be the issue?" Todd's voice carried an undertone of annoyance. "Actually, I've come to discuss something with you. I've been thinking that with how close the Wii is to being released, there is no doubt that people are starting to think about the games they can play. We have to create the right game that will swindle people into getting this revolutionary console. With that in mind, I bring you my proposal." Confidently, Austin presented the folder. Todd's face remained unchanged. "So you came to give me some papers that the printer messed up?"
"Huh?" Austin realized what he had meant, looking back only to remember that the papers were still stained red. "No, no you don't understand. This was so important that I didn't have time to reprint these. But, that doesn't downplay its quality sir!" Austin desperately tried to get his point across, giving an awkward smile in an attempt to seal the deal. Todd glanced at his watch, "Ugh, alright, come in," He slumped back into his chair, "You've got five minutes to knock it out of the park."

That's when it hit him. Austin hadn't thought about what he was going to say. He just thought he could drop off the folder and leave. All of a sudden he heard, "Well, go on."

Austin, taken by surprise, began, "Okay picture this. You're a king. Obviously, with your high position, your subjects are bound to become restless and revolt. Banished, you're forced to travel your own land, fighting and punishing your citizens for questioning your authority. While doing so you le-"
"Alright, stop talking." Todd got up from his seat. "Wait, what? That's it? Don't you want to hear more?" Austin's mind begins to race. Was Henry right? Was his work really that shit. "Listen Austin, I love your enthusiasm, but I have to go. Come back to me some other time when you're more prepared." Almost out of the door, Austin sprang up and in a last-ditch effort blurted out, "What if I email you the concept?"

Todd paused and looked back, "You really want me to see this huh? Look, tell you what. I'll look at it as soon as I get home, I'll tell you what I think. Don't be surprised if I take forever to tell you. It's your own fault for waiting this long to tell me this." Overwhelmed with joy that there was still hope for his concept, Austin excitedly said, "Yes, take all the time you need! As long as you see it and give me feedback, I'll be more than happy!" "Alright Austin, have a good night." Todd held the door open for Austin, locking up his office.

Unbeknownst to him, he had forgotten one thing. With his computer being the room's only light source, emerged an astonished Henry. He finally moved to the center of the computer screen, still processing what had just happened. Did he hear everything properly? Was Todd really giving this guy a chance? Or did he just tell him a little white lie to get him to shut up? Frustrated, Henry ran to the screen, almost trying to claw his way out.
It's surprising how moments prior he was almost overjoyed to reside in this place forever, but now, absolutely fuming, wanted out to interfere with the Todds' mistake. Henry knew the game was bad. Giving off the impression that it was written by a power-hungry child. But, knowing Todd, he would most likely revise it to make it suitable for a more "mature" audience. Psh, as if anyone who was gonna use the Wii would be that into gameplay, scoffed Henry.

His thoughts were soon interrupted with a familiar,

Ping.

"Damn Austin must be desperate.", mumbled Henry as he dragged himself to Todd's taskbar. Reading through the email, Henry couldn't help but cringe a little. It wasn't that it was written horribly, in fact, it was very formal. It was just that Henry thought about how cocky Austin must have been while typing it. The linked document led to the half-baked idea. Which he only briefly opened, before closing them in disgust.

Austin messed up my opportunity, so it's only fitting that I ruin his, thought Henry as he instantly moved the conversation to the trash without skipping a beat. Once again, boredom arose in Henry, so he briefly went through Todd's inbox. And to his surprise, there was a response to the email Todd had sent earlier. How bizarre that he hadn't heard the ping. Was it because he was too fixated on the conversation that occurred beforehand?
The response didn't contain anything of interest, mostly just reflected the same amount of shock. However, it also stated how the hospital may have sprung up as almost a protective mechanism from the Wii itself as a way to hold on to deleted data for longer. The theory seemed a little far-fetched though.

Finally disinterested, Henry shut the window and made his way back to the whole. Exhaustion had finally caught up to him, so he began to find a place to sleep in. Strolling down the hall, a blank space on the wall suddenly began to glow. Almost instantly, it faded and it unveiled a new hole. Soon enough, a sign seemingly spawned above it, which read, "tester_wii_3".

Henry figured that some of the higher-ups wanted to do one last rundown of the Wii to ensure there weren't any unseen flaws left. Henry smiled as he thought of how amusing it would be to play a little prank on them. Maybe make them think the wii was faulty, waste their time a little. Chuckling to himself, he peered through to see two people setting up the Wii. He didn't recognize either of them, but that didn't matter. Henry continued to spy on them, examining how they tested the movement of the Wii remote, sporadically dragging the cursor across the screen. Eventually, they booted up the mii channel, going straight to creation mode. Henry quickly went right into the screen, patiently waiting for them to finish. When they did, a bland-looking mii popped into the mii plaza. Henry copied their mannerisms, walking aimlessly whenever they did, even pretending to talk to them.

"Huh, that's weird. There are premade miis programmed into here?"

"I mean, there kinda are. But I don't remember there being one as weird as that one."

The hand cursor went overhead Henry, triggering a little textbox above him. "Eteled? That's a weird name. Should we keep him?"
"Nah, just get rid of him. I mean, whoever made him surely wanted to test the customization like us, but come on. They couldn't come up with anything somewhat more creative?" With that, the hand grabbed Henry by the head. Flailing his limbs, Henry tried desperately to escape its grasp. As he ascended, he peered down to see the other mii staring blankly at him. He struggled harder, fearful for his "second death". Forced to the deleted icon, the hand let go, and with that.

Trashed.
