Faint silver of moonlight penetrated the illustrated room.A warm gush of truth washed his face, and he was back to what he truly wanted to be.The world seemed to be a torturous punishment of faking hate.He wished if he could escape and run.Run into his beloved's arms, but he was bound.Bound in the countless promises, responsibilities shoved upon him and his own rage.He was clutched by the murders of Innocents, threats and moreover, his own family. How could he just forget? But also how could he stop loving? His soul was torn into a vigorous dilemma. He could have a choice - his responsibility or his love. They say no thing is beyond love but for him there was - he believed to choose responsibility over love is righteous.Maybe he was right, although his beliefs were cutting him apart. His eyes glimmered with unshed tears. The tears too were tired of being held back. They knew, like those of their dried, unshed friends, they too would dry up in those lifeless, yearning eyes. His innocence, mirth all had settled down - leaving a dangerous trail of angered sorrow. He stared at the photograph in front of him - it reminded him of how his life used to be.How precisely she used to be.Wine could have been his best companion until now, only if he hadn't promised her to never consume alcohol.

His pen glided on the pages of the diary smoothly. The ink painted the paper as his Bondita had painted his heart in the deepest shades of love and devotion. His posture gave away he was tired.Too exhausted to fight longer,to feign longer. He seeked refuge now,an abode of where he would be with her - no restraints and no unwanted promises.

Bondita was his every thought, even though he would think of anything else,Bondita remained at the back of his senses,as his only muse. These days his desperation to meet her was bubbling at the fastest. She was back,he knew. Her countless attempts to meet him, their encounters at the temple and her plead to talk just for once would kill him.Never had he wanted his Bondita to beg.Begging infront of him was like a death sentence,he could not escape.Vaijyanti being here didn't help either. She resembled Bondita so much.Stubborn, innocent, rebel and mischievous. She did things which pained him.For him, nobody in the world could make use of their gestures, probably no one else knew but she did.His hands now wrote faster,as if pouring down all his agony in the diary. What he wrote remained a mystery,at least it took down his emotions. They needed to come up and if not, they would destroy him and his leftover joy.Every night he found peace in staring a grainy brown photograph of a fifteen year old girl.He had loved her so much, even then as a friend and even now,as...Well,that remained a question. He realised he loved her but never could unravel what relationship he was allowed to share with her? Finally,a stream of hot tears ran down his face. When did they began to need permission to share a bond?Things were damaged and so was his innocent loving heart. His Kaka,Sampoorna Ma,two brothers and an ailing father all were dependent on him, expecting him to stay strong. What they didn't know was this lonely man here in solitude, breaking and rebuilding himself.Every breathe he took was a burden - a promise of not giving up - given to Bondita.

A faint rythm of soft painful sobs reached her ears. She was dressed up as someone else and acting to be someone else.Just like him.She was overwhelmed, after what she learnt. Her Sakha babu had been through so much. She needed him but more than that,he needed her.Her ears registered the sobs and she felt her heart break.Nope, not anymore. She needed to tell him that she was the one he was yearning for.He was the one,she worshipped and loved.Since eternity.Gathering up courage and mustering a prayer she opened the doors of the study.

"Sakhababu",she softly called.She didn't what to expect,at this moment.

His eyes blinked and face tightened."Vaijyanti, why are you here?",he sternly called.Anirudhh could be called that by her, only her.

"I'm here because my god is here",she said, smiling sadly.God,wait.What?It was Bondita who said that. Was Bondita Vaijyanti? His mind searched for answers, but maybe it was too worked up to respond and his head ached.Pressing his head with his fingers,he said,"Leave me alone,Vaijyanti. You should not be here".Bondita let out a sigh, she needed to work a little more.

She walked to him and massaged his head gently, knowing exactly where did he need pressure and lease. He recognised the pattern, the touch and the known resonance of her soul. His heart thudded against his ribcage and fingers trembled.Suddenly, the breeze felt too cold and his body felt too suffocating. Two contrasting feelings at once.He harshly stood up and turned to face her.Or maybe he was wrong? How could he be.

"Just tell me who are you or your tale ends here!",he said, pointing a gun at her.Even when he was threatening her,his eyes shed countless tears. He was crying, like he never did.Trembling, almost dizzy,he was overwhelmed.Too much,it was for his heart to feel.Bondita held the mouth of the gun and brought it to the side of her forehead."Shoot me Barrister Anirudhh Roy Chowdhury but know that Barrister Bondita Das loves you and shall love only you",she said. Her eyes held a shine.A burning shine of love and pain.

That was all it took for Anirudhh to stop his everyday lie.He fell on his knees and sobbed,a little openly. The pistol fell somewhere from his hands and he looked up at her.She had removed the bhasm from her forehead and let her bindi remain there. The lipstick was wiped off.She didn't need makeup when she was with him."Barrister Babu Bondita Das",he said and a sigh escaped his mouth. She felt complete,at heightened states of bliss."Is that really you Bondita?",he asked.Too surprised to accept the reality. He let the curtain over his facade fall, willingly.

His hands reached up to caress her cheek. She closed her eyes,as she felt his touch, after almost what seemed like a lifetime."Yes,Sakha Babu! It's me.",she said,Anirudhh made her sit on the couch of his study. She was unaware of what came after. He sat beside her and softly said,"I'm proud of you Bondita,Shaabash!"She was all over the moon, finally her dream comes true. She hugged him tightly, finding solace. He patted her back and caressed her hair, reciprocating the embrace.Slowly letting go of her,he lied down and rested his head on her lap.Entwining their fingers,he kissed her hand."Bondita,I'm sorry",he began.

Her other hand affectionately ran through his hair."I'm sorry to hurt you so much.I didn't do it because I wanted to.I didn't want to cause you pain.It is this enmity which could hurt you and I didn't want that.Nothing can be so major that I forget you but I knew that being with me in this phase could cost your life".He stated, exhaling deeply.

Bondita blew up her cheeks and looked away.He laughed. Her eyes softened hearing his laugh. His laughter was joyous, again. He got up,"Why are you mad,Bondita".

"Because, you thought that being with you could hurt me.Even if it takes my breath away,I will choose to be with you",Bondita declared.Anirudhh was not surprised,he was aware of their unwavering love towards each other.

"What do you want me to do to pacify you,Darling?",he whispered lovingly, gliding his fingers on her hand.Bondita's heart fluttered and she felt shy,yet managing she answered,"Anything you think would melt your Bondita".

Her eyes fell on her lips, only to meet his gaze at hers.He softly claimed her lips, pulling back to see if she was not ready. However, what he saw was alluring. Her eyes were closed, she was smiling and her cheeks were shaded in crimson. He kissed her again, this time a little more frivolously.Anirudhh was finally in his Bondita's arms, safe and understood. He sucked on her lower lip,a little more, inviting her to invade his mouth. She plunged her tongue into his while he did the same to her mouth.Claiming each other's lips so passionately, they smiled as they pulled back.

Bondita again sat on the couch and asked him to rest his head in her lap.Anirudhh gladly accepted the invitation and lied down.Holding her hand and pecking her wrists,he finally confessed,"I love you too,my Bondita".

They were at peace,a state of heart and mind exclusive to them.Anirudhh had loved Bondita and that was his only truth. With her by his side,he shall triumph over the toughest of battles. With her,he was again - Anirudhh.A very significant note of his existence - only Bondita could make Anirudhh meet himself.

When you love, you meet your own self.Love is like the mirror, which causes us to encounter the selfless, courageous and the most loving side of us.It is like hearts fusing into one, filling hollow spaces which have been hurting since an eternity.
