**crackle**bzzz**crack** Ms. Wilson turned on our boarding school's old TV with a whap of her hand. Our bus had broken down right when we arrived at the Milton Boarding School of Education, the school our class of 23 attended.
Our class, Class 13, spent the entire day at the science museum in a place about 3 hours away from the school, and were exhausted. Strangely enough, when we had arrived at the school, nobody was outside. None of our phones There wasn't any network, nor any form of communication we could use that we had right then. We all decided to go inside and take a rest before searching for a way to know what exactly was happening. We soon found a TV, and tried to put it to use. So far all it was showing was static. I hoped it worked soon.
"What do you think is happening?" asked Juliana, her curious eyes glowing.
Dwayne responded, "I think it's the zombie apocalypse. But don't worry everyone. I've come prepared for this moment my whole life. I've got us covered."
"I don't think it's the zombie apocalypse, Dwayne," Scarlet told him, "There aren't any zombies."
"That's a good point, but they might just be super-smart zombies that are hiding and plotting an attack on us at any second!" Dwayne claimed.
"I think everyone might've just left early to go home for Spring Break. They were so eager that they probably forgot about us." Elsie jokes.
As we shared our theories, I thought I noticed a small shadow peeking out from the corner, a shiny glint in a button eye. I blinked. Oh. It was just a stuffed rabbit for a decoration to celebrate Easter. My head started to feel fuzzy, so I decided to take a break from the conversation and step out to the hall. I slumped down against the hallway and took a deep breath. I couldn't wait to be able to see my sister, Samantha, and to tell her all about these shenanigans. Back at home, we were inseparable. We knew each other and all of our secrets. She even knew I had a huge crush on Gale, a girl with long, silky black hair down to her elbows, light blue eyes, as blue as a clear spring sky, and with a voice as gentle as a drop of dew splashing in the moist soil. Sadly, I have never talked to her since I met her.
Suddenly, a shadow flashed by and a small black object appeared on the ground in it's trail. I sat straight up, eyes wide. I bent down on my knees to bend down to observe the gleaming black button on the dusty ground. I cautiously reached out my hand to pick it up, and slowly started to examine it. It seemed as if it had been ripped off of something, because you could see a thin black thread dangling from it. The door swung open suddenly, and standing there was a life sized bloody doll giving me a glare so deadly I impulsively wanted to pluck out my eyes from their sockets. As I stared for a while, I started to realize it was only Ms. Wilson checking on me to make sure I was okay. Wow, I must really be exhausted! Still slightly shocked, I slightly shook my head and followed her back into the classroom.
"You're sure you're okay, Aeron?" Ms. Wilson asked me a second time with a look of concern.
"Yes, I'm sure. Thank you." I responded. As I said that I reached into my pocket and started to fidget with the strange button.
"Okay, but in all seriousness, what do you think we should do?" Gale asked, with her velvety voice. I blushed when her gaze fell on me with a worried expression.
"I think we should get something to eat and then get some rest," Ms. Wilson responded.
"Yeah. I'm starved," Dwayne added.
"Alright. Dwayne, Jayden, Aeron, Gale, and Ansley go find plastic utensils and plates, while the rest of us will go make PB&Js," commanded Ms. Wilson.
