Marshall's P.o.v
The night was silent except for my quiet, Choked back sobs and the rattling of my chains as I set up. It was nearly three in the morning and I had finally seen Bubbas bedroom light turn off around an hour ago. I sighed as I tried to choke back another round of sobs, only succeeding in quieting them so they wouldn't be heard by anyone besides me and no one came to investigate so no one could stop me.
After about ten more minutes I had gotten myself chained up to the pole in the main square, so that should I try to get away as my subconscious begs me to live, it would be in vain. And please, everyone in the Candy Kingdom hated me, no one was going to stop me. Bubba included. Unless Flame somehow managed to get here quick enough or just never left, I was sure to die.
I sighed as I sat there, just waiting for the sun to come up so it could end my suffering, once and for all. I kept choking back my sobs. Even though I was sure no one in the Kingdom would stop me, if people heard me, my friendship with Flame wasn't a well kept secret, someone could easily call him and then he would stop me. I closed my eyes and leaned my head back, the beyond crippling pain in my chest sufficient reminder of why I was doing this as the tears slipped down my face. And now, to wait...
Time skip to morning, Bubbas P.o.v. (I don't care how many people would want this to be in Marshall's P.o.v, I will NOT write anything from the view of someone who is burning alive)
I woke up with a start as someone was shaking me awake, urgent as they shouted at me to hurry and get up. I obliged with that as the only time I was woken up before my alarm like this was when there was an emergency that required my attention.
As soon as I was standing, my eyes open and crown on my head, I was pulled down the halls as we made our way out the door, Me still not entirely sure who it was that was dragging me along or what was the matter.
"What's going on?" I asked, the formal tone of my voice a bit quieter than usual as of the early hour and the pit in My stomach that told me I wasn't going to like the answer one bit. They gave me a look, one that was both pity and...I couldn't place the other one, but it made the pit in my stomach deepen, not making me feel like I was going to like the situation at hand anymore than I already did, making me dread the answer.
To my somewhat relief and confusion, they didn't answer me and instead ran faster, me stumbling a bit to keep up with them. They were acting like time was against us and if we prolonged too long it would be too late, which for all I knew was exactly the case. I looked out the window to see the sun wasn't even up yet, a good half hour before the first rays were even visible. My guess was it was somewhere between 4 am and 5 am, meaning I hadn't been sleeping long and this problem was very urgent.
The way the pit in my stomach kept getting worse and worse every second that ticked by made me run faster, the person dragging Me that I now realized was one of my servants more than eager to match my place. Soon we were out of my castle and racing towards the main square. Not much time had passed, maybe 5 minutes tops, but I still felt more uneasy as we approached.
I was coming up with theories in my head about what had happened as we ran. Maybe one of the Candy people had gotten themselves severely injured. Maybe one of them had...Died. That one made me shiver. I can tell you that what I was mist definitely, without a doubt, 110% did not expect to see exactly what I found.
As we turned the last corner, I froze in my tracks, wasting time that I know knew why we couldn't waste, but not caring at the moment. What I saw very nearly broke my heart. I saw Marshall, chained to a pole in the center of the square, with no intentions or interests in moving that I could see, even though I know he knows the sun will be up soon, his tears still flowing down his face like they were before as quiet sobs came from him.
